Anyone in the London Ontario area have a Tavor?

Reason being is we had a young lad at this weekends EESA Open House mention that he leaves for Israel in Sept and is joining their army.

He got some AR triggertime and is going to contact me to get some more tim.

I thought it might be neat to get him behind a Tavor.

Not meaning to sound like an ass, but you may only be reinforcing bad habits by teaching him the TAVOR rifle civy side before he attends formal military training in the IDF. As he will be taught a certain set of drills to operate the rifle from his future instructors and any deviation from those set drills will result in him getting yelled at at the least. Its best to start with a blank slate to minimize training scars IMO.

The kid is from the Guelph area............so some trigger time in the GTA would be good as well.

As for the anti Israeli comments............well they are benieth contempt so I will not bother to reply.

In terms of training. I think that any trigger time is good, Specially for a kid who does not know one end of a rilfe from the other.
I am not thinking of "training" per say but just some familiarization trigger time.

I rather help people who build schools and hospitals, not people who drop bombs on them :D

Openly supporting an illegal terrorist organization such as Hamas is against the board rules. Should you chose to keep openly posting support of them you could end up removed from the board. Dont troll this thread anymore.

Thread is open again.

The principles of marksmanship and safe weapons handling is universally transferable from one armed forces the next...good on you SB for doing this!

Gotta handle a TAVOR again over the weekend - the same impression, but I must say I like it a bit better now once I got the chance to get into some unconventional position with it. However, shooting on the left side is still an issue, especially low on urban prone on the left shoulder. I found the butt length ok if I am only wearing a T-shirt, but it will probably be too long if I am wearing any other things.

I agree with this. Give the kid trigger time for fun but not for training. On this fun day make sure to tell him that showing up on basic training with an "I already know this..." mentality has never turned out well for the ones who thought they did...G:
