My SKS has gone crazy

Milking the trigger - happens all the time, I would bet there is nothing wrong with your sks at all, I used to double with mine all the time and I did it with an m305, until I got enough trigger time to get used to the action.

my sks came w/ a murry spring firing pin (bought it from a friend that put it in) it ended up causing lots of problems with misfires and jamming. i took out the spring pin and put the stock pin back in and it works like a charm. (could have just happened to only my gun, but thats my story)

The issue with the murray pin, from what I can tell, is that the springs are often not very good and they stop working well if the spring starts to lose memory.

that's not uncommon for one of mine, even got 3, scared me the first time the 3 round burst went off

Over 1200 round through my lightly refurbished Russian SKS. No stove piping, no jams, no nothing.

I just give her a field strip and a 1-2 hour kerosene soaking after each shoot. Wipe it all down, a light coat of Rem Oil on each part, and she's good to go. No biggie.

These things were designed by professionals, not Mr. Murray! My advice is to keep her stock, and keep her clean.

just clean out the firing pin channel

Here is my advice, clean out the firing pin tunnel. I was amazed at the sh*t that came out of there on mine. And if you want lightly polish the firing pin just to reduce resistance. Should solve the problem at no cost to you. Happy blasting

If you are in a pinch and need to get the grease out of there, just get a lighter or other source of heat and hold it there at an angle, the grease will drip out, wipe it off until the pin travels freely. A lighter flame will not hurt the bolt body.

Just to inform you that the first sks were spring loaded pin from factory,dont know why they gone to free floating pin after.

Probably production costs and feedback from the "field". The free floating design has a low failure rate, and as noted numerous times, reliable when kept clean. I simply soak mine in a large baby food jar filled with kerosene.
