GrensVegter just sent me this photo of my Rem700. This will be it's third incarnation and it keeps getting better thanks to his great work! :)

Still 308win and will keep using the AIA 10rd mags like it did in it's mk2 form but the barrel is now a 27" stainless Bartlein 5R and the tube gun chassis is all custom GrensVegter work. The butt stock is on for fitting but will be changing to a Magpul PRS stock once the machining is finished.

I recall a post from a few years ago, in which someone had customized a garand and was able to legally circumvent the semi mag capacity issue.

Was this the same guy?

You gun looks beau coup cool!!!

I'll admit that I'm not a rem 700 fan and this one was a bit of a pig to start with but once it was worked over by GrensVegter the first time I took a liking to it. I'm sure that I will like it even more this time round :) The only problem that I'm going to have at the shoot is that I haven't had much trigger time this year.

And yes, the rifle does need to be taken apart to take the bolt out but that is not a big issue, on the plus side it makes it even safer than a stock rifle, no way is any gas getting in my face this time ;)

The test targets you guys shot at Rosebud last year were excellent to say the least...not to mention the Fig.14 that had 8 shots out of 10 in the bull from 600m!I'm thinking those 6.5 barrels we have coming in would make for a great 6.5x55 tube gun. ;)

More pics will follow soon, as for the cost unless you like making stuff and have access to the proper tools, it would be better to buy a tube gun kit like the MAC tubegun . This is a lot of work (100's of hours)

Yes they are.The barrel on the first one was a bit of a mystery and no one seemed to know where it came from. The barrel on the Mk 2 is a Bartlein and I bet it shoots like a laser.
