Times where you've actually used your bayo?

Call me whatever, but the needless suffering of animals doesn't amuse me.

Kill something as humanely as possible and consuming it is the way of life. I accept this, and live by it. I eat meat daily, and use animal products.

However...

Gutting a small animal, then blasting it - while video taping it - is simply cruel.

That to me is a perfect example of someone who shouldn't own a firearm.

Wow, pop a valium buddy. It's not a big deal.

Filming that was pretty morbid.
If you are not sure of the moral message you are sending, ask yourself; would I show this to my dad or Grandfather? If the answer is no... then that's the answer to whether or not to do it.

Call it crazy, But I use my bayo to get tighter grouping with my SKS! With my bayo extended, my groupings are consisently tighter.

My groups get 2-3 times larger!

I have put mine perpendicular to the rifle, and put it through a hole in a table or bench while cleaning to help prop the rifle up.

Depending of the quality of my newly ordered "hand picked" SKS from Ki11ercane that arrives on Wednesday, one of my SKS's will get the Tapco treatment... and I will also remove the bayo... and then I'll test for accuracy!

I have also heard of guys saying they achieved better groupings on their Mosin carbines with the bayo extended. Go figure.

I'm at a loss here; which bit is crueler - the killing of the small animal, or the video taping of it?

The gopher was still alive and dying slowly. Jamming a knife into it then blasting it a second later seems like a pretty quick death to me, compared with just leaving it there in the field, as is what tends to happen while gopher shooting. There's a lot of critters to blast, and you can't kill them all clean.

That one got out quick.

I am not trying to cause an argument here. I am also not a tree hugger, or preaching. I eat animals every day. I simply don't believe in making a spectacle of the event, especially filming the dying animal to post on the internet.

To describe this as an act of humanity is creative at best.
The humane thing to do would have simply been to shoot it again.
The shooter actually scewers the little guy, needlessly, then proceeds to hold the critter in the air, and blast it to oblivion.

Was it better than dying slowly? Maybe. I don't know.

Humane? Hardly.

I am not trying to hijack the thread. Mountain of a mole hill. Move on :)
