Does anyone know where I can get one of these rifles? I am looking to get it in .308 and use it for hunting I know wanstalls has them for 500 and frontier has them for 550 does anyone know anywhere else I can pick up one of these rifles?

Do yourself a huge favour and buy a Stevens 200, or Savage 11!!!!!!

The ATR's are the the worst rifle made since the Remington 770!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stevens 200 would be and is my choice for a cheap rifle! They are very accurate and can be had for under $400 dollars! A little paint to cover up the ugly grey stock and your in business!

You could go with a Savage 11fcxp package but it is practically the same gun just comes with some crappy scope! I believe they go for around $500.

Id say save the extra cash get the Stevens and buy a can of spray paint and a decent scope!

Wholesale Sports' websites shows them "Starting from $339.99."

I don't know Wanstalls but I do know Frontier Firearms has a good reputation on this site and is a site sponsor so I would like to do business with them but that is a big price difference. From looking at the sticker prices, it seems to me generally that it is for low priced no frills rifles like the Mossberg and the Stevens 200 that the big volume retailers have their biggest advantage. With dealers like Frontier you might be able to negotiate, but only he knows at what point it isn't worth his investment in capital and effort.

Pretty much what he said:) My brother in law bought a Mossberg ATR in 30/06 and it was a piece of junk from the start. I felt bad so I bought it off him and tried to find a use for it.....

I gave it away....

Take a look at the new Savage Edge rifles. I read a report in my gun magazine that they were impressed with the new rifle. And they had several rounds that shot at or near MOA out of the box. Worth a look . BUT stay away from the Mossberg

look down in the dealer section of the forum wanstalls is there :D

I would also suggest the Stevens rifle. The ones I have had experience with were very accurate out of the box (30-06 and .223). Prices are cheeeeep too.

They were in the cabelas flyer(though they're not even on their website) last week for $259(give or take, well under $300). Give them a call if that's what your heart is set on.

Gee, guys. I got 2. One in .30-06 and one in .308. I like them both. they both shoot within MOA. I just got the .308 based on the .30-06 performance last hunting season. 3 deer and a moose. No misfires, no problems at all. They work for me. However, bought the Savage 111 in .243 for my wife (she liked the youth stock) and I like that a lot. Probably won't buy another Mossberg, but not unhappy with them.

I just like the fact that it comes complete with stock and bipod and I know everyone is going to say those are easy to add on after the fact but when ever I try to do something that is seamingly easy it turns into a huge mess, I will probably end up buying one and probably getting a stevens 200 as well, Im just looking to have some fun at the range and out hunting not really to worried if the rifle gives me 1 1/2 to 2 in groupings.
