I want to buy a Millet LRS-1 Illuminated scope. Frontier Firearms has the illuminated ones coming in about a month they say. I've read some online reviews and saw posted pics of it mounted on a Savage 10FCP-K. BIG SCOPE! The features are cool, I think for the money.

Anyone here using one? Have opinions? I thought about putting it on my M305 that shoots 155 A-max's into 2"@200m for fun. My FLCP-K has an Elite 6500 2.5-16x50mm SF MD on it now but I saw a pic with the LRS-1 on that rifle and it looked awesome! Might be fun to try that combo for long range plinking. $599 for the LRS-1 including 35mm rings and shipping seemed like a deal to me.

I have one on my Remington 338 Lapua.

So far it seems good. Mine is a non illuminated mil dot.

When you turn up the magnification past 20, the clarity drops off.

So far, no regrets getting it.

Thanks. Yeah I've read some reviews that mention the same thing about being past 20x. I'm really wanting the illuminated one. Don't really know why, but why not?:D

Max Owner, Are you using the turrets to adjust for ranges or mildots for holdovers? I'm curious if the tracking is perfectly vertical on the elevation turret if it's used. Up until now I've always used mildot holdovers because I've preferred scopes without exposed turrets and have gotten pretty good at it. Sometimes though the dot obscures the target so I'd rather try to learn to use the turrets and have the slim crosshairs for an aiming point.

I do use the turrets.

I've had my set up out to 1,000 yards once so far. Wind was an issue so I can't comment on how accurate they are for consistancy.

When I was done shooting, I turned everything back to zero. Haven't shot it again at 100 yards to verify that everything is good.

So far I am hoping things will be good....................

Every scope I buy now will have target turrets on it.

I have no direct experience with this particular model, but I know Millet has had quality control issues in the past as mentioned on other on line forums. I think Bushnell has recently bought them out so hopefully things will improve.

I myself haven't had good luck in the past with their (weaver style) rings. The mild metal bending and breaking while being mounted, or shortly thereafter.
