The bane of CyaN1de: Birth of the 6BR - "BC Roll": *new 100m group on last page

Went up to Mission to shoot today, but was in a hurry so didn't get too many shots off. Took a 3-shot group at 300 yards and this was the result:

0.407" at 300 yards, divided by 3 = 0.136 MOA

This is with fireformed Lapua brass, using the tried-and-tested load of:

31.2gr Varget
105gr Berger VLD hunting
18 thou jammed
CCI 450

Pretty decent considering this is the first time I brought this out to 300, and only the 3rd time shooting the gun. :)

Could have been tighter....looks like you pulled the bottom right one :D

Awesome shooting!!!!!!

Now get out to Mission on Sunday and kick Ian's behind for me since I can't make it...LOL

Pulled shot sucks. :D

(BTW, what's the V-bull for 300 yards? 0.4 MOA?)

I think the a$$-kicking will have to wait, I got church in the morning and a hockey game in the afternoon..

But I already marked down the calender for the Vokes thing. I'll be there for sure! It'll give me some more time to get used to the gun too :)

how the heck did you miss a moose at 300 yards last fall? LOL

If I had a concrete bench with me, using this gun... ;)

Still, 2 of 4 shots in the boiler room off-hand ain't too bad.

Awesome shooting!!!!!!

Nice.....
Sick man ......very Sick.

Cheers

Yup, I'll make myself feel better by saying I "pulled" it. :D

Took it up again to PoCo range. Today I brought a few younger people to show them the shooting sport, so it wasn't any serious shooting.

What was an interesting revelation was, two people managed to keep it 1 MOA at 100, and one girl, who had never handled a firearm before, was able to shoot a 3-shot group of .324. I think that speaks volumes that someone who has nary any shooting experience can shoot in the .3's, well, in the correct hands and/or practice, I believe this gun will become a VERY competitive entrant to F-Class.

I think it depends on the quality of instruction. Well done!

Perhaps that was a contributing factor. At least I'd like to think so :D

It's one thing I definitely enjoy: bringing new people out to the range. Just this week I've brought 5 new shooters to two different ranges.

By September I hope to have two new hunters joining the ranks, largely due to being introduced to the sport recently. R:d:

After a couple weeks of hiatus (the heatwave discouraged me ;)), I finally hauled my lazy a$$ up to the range, chrony and all.

Shot a lot of rounds today. I found the average velocity to be 2855 fps, but it ranged from as low as 2834 and as high as 2887. What do you make of it?

Accuracy-wise, I shot mostly at 200m (max range of PoCo) and managed to keep my 5-shot groups slightly below 1/2 MOA.

Interestingly, my first group, a 3-shotter at 100m (to check the chrony) was my best group, measuring in at .322 - .243 = .079". I was surprised that my first group was the best group, but the accuracy of this gun doesn't surprise me anymore :D

Ignore the velocity and judge the results. The ES you have is within an acceptable tolerance, and there is no way to tell to what extent the chrony contributed to the variations.

Very nice shooting, and the results do not surprise me either.

that is friggin amazing, by the way all the broads I bring out shooting embarrass all the guys too. They shoot shotgun shells at a 100y and the guys cant even hit clay pigeons at the same, let alone play the golfball game

Cool, looks like load development is officially over, I have all the information I need (at short range, anyway).

I just got 1000 orange box Bergers from Jerry and ordered 300 pieces of brass from Target North Sylva. I should be set for a while ;)

Need to bring it out to Vokes to stretch its legs next time :D

Thanks for the compliments.

Haha yeah, the ladies seem to do better for some reason. I'd put the competency at 50/50 for all the guys/gals I brought to the range.
