Hullooo...

I'm in the market to pruchase this gun, and was wondering if any of you had experienced ordering a Springfield handgun from a dealer before (without ridiculous wait times). I've laised with over 5 dealers in the past week, who have all quoted me between 8-12 months wait time to acquire one. Apparently Springfield rarely ships to Canada?

If any of you have a direction in which you could point me, please let me know. I'd hate to move on to the next gun on my list (Sig P226 Elite Dark). I want a 1911, and from what I've seen, this one is my fav.

Thanks in advance

Take a look at the Kimber Tactical Entry II.

And the Custom Covert II.

Best friend has the Spinger Operator Custom. The gun is insanely nice, even though it's a series 70.
It took 6-8 months to get it in, and he's the manager for a very large gunshop here in Vancouver.
I'd say move on to the Sig, while you have the Springer on order.

I inquired about an OD Operator not that long ago and was told it could take up to 2 years before I saw it. Bought a GI instead and ended up selling it.

are you serious???? that's beyond insane. was the shop you were dealing with still back-ordered with Hyundai Ponys and Commodore VIC-20s? or did they assume you were just born and had a few dozen years to waste before you die of old age?

Get the Taurus with the rail, take it to a good smith like Casey at Tac Ord and have him refinish for you like the Operator. There are in stock in Canada, cheaper then the operator, you could buy extra mags and lost of ammo and the refinishing work.

i went through the same issue of wait times trying to buy a kimber sis. Eventually i found one through wss in Calgary. Very happy with it. Shoots better than i do and very reliable. Normally i try to buy locally ,but dealers hands are somewhat tied. They place an order for 50 guns, supplier ships what they have available, maybe 15 guns. The large box stores (wss,Cabelas etc)order by much larger volumes and often end up with more firearms available for sale. Check with some of them, and you might find something. Just a thought.
