Just purchased an M&P 9mm ..went to the range today to break it in ..put 200 rounds through it ..and not thrilled at all with the accuracy ..the gun shoots very low and very left...small sight adjustment can correct the shooting left part... didnt have an allen key with me for that ...and the paint fell out of the front sight after 100 rounds...anyone shoot an M&P with same issue ..Im also using cheap CCI Blazer 124g ammo not really sure how bad cheap ammo affects accuracy ... is this a normal thing with a cheap gun ..?
really sucks aiming top right corner of a target to get in near the centre:mad:

Don't take it personally... but it's you not the gun. At the beginning I grouped at 7 o-clock. Now I shoot center but my groups are wide regardless of backstrap size... SML works the best for me but not great. Having said that, my cousin using the LRG backstrap can get them in the 9 and 10 ring at 20 yards with my M&P9.

Not sure what you mean by the paint fell out the front sights... do you mean the front white dot? No problem with mine and over a 1000 rds through my M&P9.

Just a fun test... get a friend to charge your mag but put a few red/blue dumbing rounds into the mix... ;)

How close can you get to your target? If allowed at you range get closer... 7 to 10 meters. Shooters Choice's range is cheap and they have a mechanical retractble target system.

^ what he said. I figured the same thing as you until I had someone tell me what I was doing wrong. Turns out the gun shoots better than I do.

Maybe you really do have a hardware issue but I'd get a second opinion before writing off the pistol.

Yes i was refering to the white dot in the front sight(classy blob of white paint) ... Theres no question I need practice ..but something just dont feel right, aim dead centre each time it hits low and left and in a good group .. ..next trip to the range I will find a vet and hand him the pistol see what he comes up with ... maybe it was the black cloud of sand flies eating me alive ..**Note to self*** pack bug spray next time !!

try shooting off a good rest (sandbags). this will take out the variables ie: flinch, pushing the trigger, head forward ect. see where it shoots then. if it's still low/left you know its sights, if not it's you. if it makes you feel better, first day at the range with my M&P 9....drum roll........ low and left.

I would try what The Roc has said.It is a good test to see what if anything you may be doing. Most of the time if a person shoots low and to the left they are tightening their fingers as they pull the trigger or jerking the pistol. The dummy round idea will show this.

On your next trip... bench it and really concentrate on squeezing the trigger straight back. I bet your groups will be centered... not ness. a tight group but at least centered or near it.

6, 7 and 8 o-clock is your classic "flinch"

Low and left may mean you are pushing with your trigger finger, assuming you are right handed. Straighten your arm out emptyhanded, make a fist and clench. You will see that your hand naturally pulls down and to the left. Start with a tighter grip and work on your trigger control. My M&P9 shoots better than I can, but when I'm doing my part it's a pretty accurate pistol.

I have an M&P .40 and my grouping is pretty good. The paint fell off the front sight??? Are you sure someone didn't drop the gun on the front sights or tried to adjust the front sight? Because that can explain why your shots are all over the place and why the paint fell off.

Thanks for the tips guys..any input is helpful....just curious as to how tight the barrell sits in the end of the slide...mine seems a little big ..its sorta oval and the barrell rests in the lower part of the hole ..leaving a gap at the top ...wouldnt this actually be letting the barrell point lower than it should? have a picture but PITA to upload it ..

I have put thru about 6000 rounds in the last yr and my gun shoots way better then I do. We had an open range day with alot of guest shooters and some of them where shooting my gun alot better I ever did, so I know the gun can do it Ijust have to learn.

Thanks guys for the advice...you guys are 100% correct ..i did some reading on grip and stance ..went to the range today fired off 200 rounds..and what a dif ...I was gripping way to tight ..still a little left but much tighter grouping ..very happy ...weird thing happened after my first trip I cleaned the gun and lubed it up ...and today the first 80 rounds the slide would not stay locked back after the last round was fired ..then it starting working again ? now i just hope this trigger breaks in ..feels like metal grinding on sand !!!

I have about 6000 rounds through my 40 and 3000 rounds through one of my 9s (I have two) and they are will group 2-3 inches at 15 yards even with my bad eye sight. I can hit a steel target out to 45 yards consistantly with both.

Did you use heavy grease on the slide rail or something? Sounds like your slide got slowed down by something. Once the lube was heated and/or leaked/speaded out (after 80 rounds) it started to work back again...
