Ordered 3 Mec-Gar mags today - was going to order from the USA but I forgot how much I hate not knowing if I am going to get dinged duty fee's - even with USPS as a gift I had stuff come where the duty fee's cost more than the product price so it was a huge bummer.

Anyway, I have 3 10 rounders on the way and tomorrow is my 28th day - we'll see if I get an approval then or if it will be after Canada Day

i was just thinking how long my ENTIRE process took, from first course to having my LTATT. i'm seeing it right at 5 months, start to end. i did my PAL course on Jan 24 and my RPAL course Jan 30, and got my LTATT today. five freakin' months. i tell ya, if i were a criminal, i'd have access to portable maiming machines within 48 hours of deciding it's something i want to get into. REALLY not seeing how this is making my community any safer...

i still hate Honda, though.

Take a guess what's HERE!!

a little pink card that permits you to wait another 4-10 weeks before you can actually do anything with anything anywhere. *

* certain restrictions and conditions apply, see dealer for details, batteries sold separately

or bought some speedloaders for a revolver that you MUST buy (why? cuz they're SO much fun!!!)

honestly, i have 3 autos and 1 revolver, and BOY-O-BOY i think i like the revolver the most. it's simple, tough, makes a GREAT bang with a 357, is easy to shoot with 38, and requires minimal extras (no mags). heck, speedloaders are just $10 each or so, and for regular range days you can load just as easily by hand. PLUS - no need to pick up brass.

Those are pretty good points.

i have to admit that i didn't think i'd love the revolver as much as my semi-autos, but it really didn't take long for me to like its various points and have it become my favourite. when i'm at home and wanna pick up something for dry-firing and to practice my draw, 95% of the time i grab the revolver. the price is about the same as a good quality semi-auto ($650 or so), so it's not hard to get into them. the ammo costs around the same as well (38Spl compared to 9mm), but the upshot is being able to load a 357Mag for the occasional "ye-haw!" moment.

semi-automatics are great for capacity and faster reloads, and there's probably 5 times as many choices in them than revolvers, and entry-level ones are somewhat cheaper. but add a few mags and it's the same ballpark price. after that, holsters are about the same, as are mag / speedloader pouches.

but shooting speed is different. i dunno, i'm breezing through a 10-round mag on my 22LR semi-auto (3sec), but on a wheelie it would be hard to do fast shoots.

at times i wonder if learning on the "heavy DA trigger or manually #### the hammer" wheelie would actually make someone a BETTER overall shot than learning on a SA semi-auto. it's inherently slower, and shooting fast takes more effort. hmm...........

Magazines and ammo are in check, I ordered 3 extra mags and have money $$$ set aside for ammo when the time comes to shoot.

On a side note, they could have made the card much more attractive - I mean, it's pink and my photo looks so shotty!

Thanks robertf! A lot of this is due in part to you letting me try your Beretta and Sig! Please don't offer your AR to me, I will be broke lol

5.11 VTAC vest showed up - man this thing is rugged, I was expecting something more casual and bendy but the materials seem top notch. I ordered it sight unseen but I am definitely pleased and shipping was ultra-fast from Tetragon!

Good thread Danimal, almost makes me nostalgic for the time I was waiting for my Norinco 1911 to arrive.

You've got great times coming: I'm still pretty new to restricted guns, but my last trip to the range this past weekend I shot my Norc, my buddy's wife's Para 1911, my buddy's Ruger .500 S&W, Desert Eagle .50, and Glock 10mm, and some-guy-who-I'd-never-met's CZ858.

If you like recoil, I highly recommend the DE .50 lol. Insane.

Not long now! Hang in there...
