I searched and searched and searched, the conclusion I came up with is I need help.

Prohibited Weapons Order 11

•The firearms of the designs commonly known as the Barrett "Light Fifty" Model 82A1 rifle and the Barrett Model 90 rifle, and any variants or modified versions of them.

I think the 107 would be classes as a variant?

Bottom line is none of the 50's from USA can be exported from the USA due to USA law.
No loss however, there is lots available from other countries.

WHY?

because they are cool, WHY would you want a kewl firearm?
theres actually a bunch of 50cal that look like a "old school" hunting rifle with non-pistoll grip stocks that are non-restricted, but why would you want a crapper?
the canadian public in general views guns such as a barrett 107 to be on par with a WMD
you can get a couple of single shot rifles in 50cal ive drooled over a couple at alberta tactical rifle's website
theres a guy in town that has one, no att so its a safe queen

I would love an auto barrett, if i could fire one id sell my car today and buy one, but its a no-no in canada
you can get a Steyr hs-50, t-n-t in regina has one on display, daym beautiful rifle, but still not a barrett and id gladly pay an extra 3500$ for the auto barrett

.338 lapua: luckily .50cal is banned in california so theres more and more of them out there
pgw makes a wicked rifle that the canadian forces uses
remington makes a cheap one 1500$
barrett 98b is available and non-restricted expect to pay around 7500$

THEN REALITY HITS, i aint gonna hit within 800m anyway so why would i want to spend 10-15$ a round when i can almost buy a box of 300winmag for that, ya reality sucks but it sometimes makes cents

You have to make sure your range will allow a .50 as well, else you will be driving a while to find a safe place to shoot. Most outside of Alberta and the Prairies are limited by the CFO or insurance to .338.

Absolutely. I have seen a few beautiful custom builds from ATR that put the brand names to shame, but I still can't get past the ammo cost, and the lack of acceptable ranges out here.

A semi only doubles or triples your average fire rate. and that is a bad thing at $10/round. ;)

No kidding... posted at SPFGA:

"No .50 BMG or .408 CheyTac"

Oh well. Not that I can afford one right now anyway... and I suppose there's always Genesee...

you will have a hard time to find a range that will allow you to shoot a 50 as most do not allow them. my range does not allow 50 bmg as they are very bad on the backstop.
