Help!! Can some on tell me what this is?

Hello all

My Father inlaw found some Cartridge's in his Field the other day and he gave them to me to look at as i have started a Collection of cartridges but i cant figure out what it is! Now I have books on Identifying Cartirdges i just cant figure it out!

I have taken some pictures but they arnt very good and have mesured it with Calipers (I am new at this so)

It is from what i understand a RIMLESS BOTTLENECKED cartirdge
the Rim mesures .448 of and inch or close to that and the length mesures .502 of an inch

It is marked 31 and 93 in the 12:00 and the 6:00 postions

That is a Norinco 7.62x39mm copper washed steel cartridge case. Made in 1993 at Factory 31. Corrosive primed and dirt cheap back in the day. Shot quite well. Had steel core 123 grain FMJ bullets.

Looks to have been fired out of a Norinco stamped receiver AK clone that was assembled in Factory 306. Final inspection was done by a gentleman whose surname is Wang. :)

I own a damn SKS i should know better! Its just all the 7.62X39 i have shot is in a steel gray casing

The various factories played with different types of laquer coating, washing them with copper and leaving them bare. They were trying to find the most cost effective way to keep the ammo fresh and usable over long periods of time while spending the least amount of money.
