All the discussion about rimfire accuracy on threads here made me yearn to slip out and shoot a few groups to reaffirm the accuracy of my 40X and 504THB Remingtons. I know my Suhl 150 is probably my most accurate 22 rimfire, but these two are not exactly slouches, either! I will post a few 5-shot groups shot on Friday July 2. Weather was favorable, so out I went. It's interesting to note how accurate these rifles are with various ammo, even the cheap Winchester Bulk 333 Plated ammo being not bad, considering all things. Wouldn't take it to a match, obviously, but you get the picture. Regards, Eagleye.

Awesome shooting and groups.;) I assume these are older model Remingtons. Do they currently build anything that is as good or better?

Great shooter shooting a great shooting rifle with great shooting ammo! I was suprised to see only one flier in the win 333. I may have to get some of that purebread ammo for benchmarking my rifles, with the standard caveats of different rifles like different ammo.

I'll be waiting with bated breath to see your posted results. There are not many rimfire rifles that will maintain .319moa at 100m for 12 5-shot groups.
Nice shooting 'Adlerauge'!

Without ANY wind many rifles are capable of that level of performance at 100 yds.

Not to sound negative, but I am a 100 meter shooter with three top-quality rimfires, and at that distance, groups under ½ moa are rare indeed. I have seen and shot them, but not an average, by any means. You are going to have to show me these groups at 100 meters, witnessed, please. Regards, Eagleye.

KDX; The 40X is not a new rifle, built some 20+ years ago, but the 504THB is very new, only about 2 years old. These rifles both have very heavy barrels. I believe the latest permutation of the 504, the 547, is only available from Remington's Custom shop now. Regards, Eagleye.

Rare indeed - Just like no wind -

I have lots of 5 rd groups (Eley club out of BSA Martini scoped 36x ISU rifles, Walther and Anschutz) at 100 yds.,
WATCHED and witnessed and signed targets ( NO WIND! ) -
PRINTING 23 CALIBER HOLES !

But since there was not a spinning background paper you wouldnt believe it -

Shoot your high end .22's at dawn - best time for temperature and wind - {or at a 100 yd. indoor range - lol } with a professional heavy bench rest system - you'll see - .22 rail guns do it all the time -

If you unzip your fly on a public forum you might want to humour us with a little more than verbage. Why should your groups be accepted with less credibility than anyone else's ?

Yep, let's see your groups! I showed mine....lots of 5-shot .23" groups at 100with a rimfire? Right! The odd one, but lots? Give us shooters a bit more credit than that! Eagleye.
