No no no, you need to go back to the classics. A 45-70 Gattling gun, split loaded with 500gr hardened solids and 305 gr hollow points! Throw in the odd Barnes 400gr for good measure and you have the perfect bush gin. Bush, what bush? After 300 - 400 rounds, Nothing will be left standing!

We will eventually need some kind of artillery or air support. Only a few years ago people were kiling deer with .30-30s and sporterised enfeilds and now it takes at least a .30 cal magnum to kill a deer. As the deer keep evolving and getting tougher we will be in an arms race to keep up. I think .300 wm might not be enough this year.

It's all the food plots and hormones we keep dumping for them , i tell ya ! That's my story an I'm stickin' to it :p
 
Im having a chickadee infestation problem and im wondering if my .308 and 165 Accubonds are going to let me down. I may have to borrow my daddys .300 Wby.
 
I don't know. I never got to shoot anyhting with my 300 the few times I carried it.
But I did shoot a squirrel once with a 303 Brit. I was trying to still hunt over a gully and the critter kept scolding me all afternoon. When it came time to leave I decided to show him who was boss. I missed him, but hit the branch he was sitting on. Damn near put him into orbit...
 
Yes it is enough stopping power for dear. I have taken everything on the continent with a .177 air gun. Its really all about shot placement, even a charging grizzly or polar bear, the key is to shoot them in the eyeball. The only thing my pellet gun doesn't have enough stopping power for is maybe a Kodiak.

Who says hunters are a bunch of unintelligent wildlife slayers? I haven't stopped laughing since I started reading this thread. BTW, I only have one magnum (.270 WSM) and I only use it with non-magnum hand loads (go ahead, ask me why). It works well on chipmunks...with proper shot placement.
