Is this type of bullpup modification legal in Canada?

It's a drop-in mod kit for an SKS.

LOL. I'll bet that 2/3 lawmen/woman don't know what's legal and what's not.
The laws are convoluted to say the least. Everytime I try to explain to a non-nutter, they don't believe anything written into law could be so silly.

Yes, they do.

"Aftermarket bullpup = illegal." There's your listing of legal bullpup modifications.

Factory bullpups like the Tavor are good to go (and let's not mention the post-facto Type 97 fiasco, which I hope gets slaughtered in court by our side at the reference hearings).

Im not against modding an sks,but i dont see any reason to make a sks-bullpop,just look at video the bolt carrier is to close to the face,somehow if it blow up say good bye to your face ! lol
 
Only way such a thing would be "legal" is if both 1) it came from the factory that way and 2) the trigger mechanism was an integral part of the stock itself, making the gun impossible to fire without the stock.
 
"...what mods are legal or not?..." Laws do not tell you what you can do. Only what you cannot.
Any bullpup stock that allows the firearm to fire when out of the stock is evil.
 
what a wierd law...we can put pistol grips on shotguns, folding stocks on whatever so long as it doesnt reduce OAL to 660mm or less, but a bullpup, that CANT reduce an SKS to 660mm or less is illegal...same with the silencer ban...what nonsense. The general idea to prohibit a long gun being shortened to make it easily concealable has some logic to it, but this stock can not accomplish that as the sks barreled action is over 660mm. Where I work, if someone doesnt know how to do their job, they get skidded and replaced with a competent worker, but these laws show a blatent lack of knowledge, training and competency of those who make these obscene rules...

Yeah... BS all the way. One of the few reasons why I wished I lived in Florida or Texas...
 
I always find "Prohibited device" to be an amusing term. A bullpup stock, even without a firearm mounted in it, is such a hideous threat to our peaceable society that we must prohibit it's very possession. Same with a normal capacity magazine.

Really shows the mindset of the people who made these laws.
