Let me start off by saying that I am by no means a cheap person.... I have no problem laying down 2.5k for a MK23, or 3.5k on a Swiss Arms.

I wanted to get my bro a CZ 858 for his b-day. I see they sell for about $700 new, so I figured I'd take a look at the used prices, and maybe score one for $500 or so.

To my surprise... the average used price I saw was $850!!! In fact, in all of my searching, the cheapest CZ 858's I saw were the new ones!!!

Can someone explain this to me? It's not like these are hard to find by any means, and my searching was not limited to the CGN EE.

Cheapest I've seen is $600, & the average used price for a bone-stock is about $650. I dunno where you saw the prices you mentioned.
Having said that, I just realized that indeed, used 858's are definitely no great bargain. At $650 shipped, you save the taxes, shipping and about $40. Not exactly a great deal, I do admit. Bought mine from a buddy for $600, btw.

Yup... And it's the reason I just bought mine from CanadaAmmo NEW. Had a credit from them from purchasing my Tavor... So, I kinda had a $100 bucks burning a hole in my pocket... Not worth the headache buying used, not @ the friggen prices they seem to command in the EE...

Once I get the rifle, it's off to be "Rauch" coated, then the accessorizing can begin!

Cheers
Jay

When i was shopping last, i noticed a lot of accessorized CZs in the 850-1100 range, however quite a few stock guns some "nib" were going for about 600-650, many of these with only two or three mags.
I finally bought an 858-4v (4 mags, pouch, cleaning kit, bayo etc.)for $650 with 1000 rds included!

Its supposed to be barely used, but I'll see this weekend when I pick her up.

My first 858 cost me $700 new from Epps, and came with a special bonus of 8 mags!

Jesus! $650 c/w 1000 rds of ammo? Did you get your knees dirty securing that deal? :D

I sold my CZ 858 T2 with about 300 dollars in accesories for 700 shipped!!!!!!

I can't believe some of the prices people ask on the EE for used guns, claiming LNIB or some BS! Bottom line is its used! I am not gonna buy used just to save the tax! Some people on this site are on crack that's for sure! They post their adds saying LNIB w/only 500 rounds fired, meanwhile the price is so high it stays up on the EE being bumbped several times, and you expect me to believe that round count isn't going up! When I put something up I want it sold, I'm not trying to make money, I need cash so I sell for a fair price! I've never had an add up for more than 2 days without selling I don't think!

Not sure why they are so expensive this year. They are still available. Last summer while they were sold out,you could buy used and on the EE for $400 up. Bought one last July for $400 shipped. It came with the black skeleton stock, black handguards, and two sets of the original furniture along with the mags and bayonet.

Ill buy it for $450 from you lol

If you want to make some easy cash, buy new rifles and resell them + 20% in the EE forum. Most of the stuff being advertised can be purchase for the same price or cheaper new! I guess a person needs to really do some homework before buying something out of that forum.

Biggest problem is just like customizing cars and trucks. The owner thinks it's worth what he has in it. Often times taxes and shipping included. Truth is not everyone likes the upgrades. The sellers get mad and won't sell in original dress. Just like everty other commodity....................it's only worth what someone will buy it for,not what you have in it. No matter how pimped out it is.

I noticed the prices on EE are something else while hunting for a 858 this week

almost everything in the EE is overpriced

if your statement is true then why are there so many members with high traders ratings?

you guys arent seeing the bigger picture, the well priced ads are snatched up very quickly and deleted just as fast, leaving only the unsold ads for you to read.

i bought a near new restriced CZ for $600 a few months ago and a non-retricted for $400 2 years ago, that one was suppose to have the gremlin but so far it have not made an appearance.

also just bcos they ask for the moon doesnt mean they wont come down to earth, if it doesnt sell in a couple of weeks, reality will sink in and they may accepts offers.

True, although you gotta love the listings that have 9-10 bumps and the guy says the price is firm lol.
