best antelope calibre?

well, what are they? longest, flattest, reloadability.......etc?

help me.

Well I would have to say Both .270's (WSM and Win), 25-06, .260, 7-08, 7MM Rem mag, .257 Weatherby Mag. They all shoot pretty flat, some recoil less than others but in the end they will all do the job. I personally haven't antelope hunted but my buddy shot his @ 400yds with his 7MM Rem mag, but anything for longer range deer should work.

I would look at something between a .243 and a .264 cal.

.243win, 6mm Rem, 25-06, .250 savage, .257 Roberts, .260 Rem, 6.5x55 would all fit the bill.

I should be due to get my draw in AB within the next few years and for me it'll be one of three. 25-06, 270 or 7x61 S&H. At the moment I'm leaning towards the 270 Win and 130gr Barnes TTSX.

I used a 264 Win mag in a Model 70 Westerner to take the pronghorn in my photo, worked really well as one would expect.

I started shooting pronghorns with my 30-06 when it was the only rifle I had. Since then my collection has grown and I switched to my .243 for the last 5 or 6 hunts. The .243 has worked very well for me. I have been thinking about a .240 or .257 Weatherby because I want one, not because I need it. Any good deer cartridge should do. Which season are you applying for? Around here the later season is a tough hunt because the animals get chased hard in the first season and will not let you get within shooting distance. Good luck.

Choice

My last one, I used a 6.5 x 55 Ruger 77 MkII with 129gr. Shot was about 100 yds and he hit the dirt stone cold dead.
No meat damage.

This year I may use a 7mm Rem Mag Winchester Westerner M 70, should the draw gods smile on me.

My last goat fell to the .50 muzzleloader. Taste best in the early season. If I had to venture into the rifle season, it would be the .257 weatherby, pushing 100 to 120 gr bullets. But then again, I am a weatherby kind of guy, so this is biased. Conventional wisdom would suggest .24 to .26 bullet diameter with 3000+ fps and 100ish gr weights. Can't go wrong with this combo.
