I don't own this rifle but I do shoot that calibre so perhaps I could offer some observations. I load my own and after trying different bullet types, weights etc. I settled on a 40 grain Berger. This has a very good trajectory compared with the lighter and faster bullets and carries a lot more energy downrange. I would suggest trying the Hornady 40 grain factory ammunition that uses the Nosler bullet but let the rifle tell you what it "likes" best. I would be interested to hear of your experiences.
Jim.

Thanks for your respons Jim.
I had the LVSF out today. I tried a box of Hornady 40 grain nosler and the Hornady 45 grain soft point. It shot the 40 and 45 both well. 3 shot groups just under 1" I have the 40gr sighted in 2" high at 100M , the 45Grain were consistantly 1/2" lower than the 40grain A 100M. Then i moved out to 200M with the 40 gr and the 45. After letting the barrel cool , then a fast barrel cleaning, I shot two more three shot groups.
They seemed to open up some. The 40 grainers were about 1.50" group. one shot in the bull maybe 1/2" high, the next two seemed to go high right and mid bull right to form a 1.5" triangular group. The 45 grainers opened up a little more maybe 2.5 group all three right of the bull and a little high. I think this gun shoots great but will need a trigger job as the trigger pull is heavier than i like.
Next time I'll shoot 200 Meters again and will see if i can find some more ammo chioces. All in all, I'm really happy with the Horandy 40 grain Nosler. The Gun will be a keeper for sure.:D
This is a fun calaber to shoot and will have to try it out on a yote this Fall

Thanks for the help Jim .

Yep I agree. FUN! I was in Orillia today and stopped @ Tremblays. They had two boxes of Hornady 32Grain V-Max. 4250 FT per second. I'm interested to see how these shoot compared to the 40Grain V-max. I will let you know in a week or so. Anyone else shoot the LVSF in .204 Ruger?

Bob

If you are in Orillia, Epps is usually a few dollars cheaper on there Hornady ammo, they are a distributer rather than a retailer. The 32s are great. It's like the bullets has left and hit target before you even knew you fired it the recoil is completely not existent. I shoot the 40's on the yotes. I just like the heavier bullet for peace of mind I guess. Altho I have yet to paper both further than 100 to see which works better.

I live in Beaverton, It's VERY hard to live half hours from those stores.

I have a 700 SPS in 204 Ruger. I've been using Hornady ammo (32 and 40 gr) and get 1/2" or slightly better groups @ 100 yards every time. I haven't bothered to reload yet as the Hornady ammo more than meets my requirements and time spent hunting/shooting is better than time spent reloading!
