what AR to get?

Is there any difference between the Norinco that SFRC sells and the QC that Marstar is going to sell? Should I wait for Marstar or buy now?

I think most AR guys are shooting up to 200 m. Above that, accuracy of semis are just not up to par with bolt action. Even below 200, most AR guys shoot 50 or 100 m, some even only 25 m, hey, how far do you want to/can you shoot with a red dot? 500 m? Buy something else!

The Ar platform is modular in form. Buy a complete milspec lower for about four hundred bucks. Choose a simple milspec 16 inch upper. And start playing around with different barrel lengths, twist rates. Arms East and kodiak have great prices. The big cost is the upper. The norcs are poorly fitted and shoot terribly. They look like someone used a dremmel tool to make.

X3,

If you were asking which CAR to buy, and got 20 responses saying "Kia", "Geo" or "Lada"...... take it for what it's worth.

I've seen quite a few nice ARs on the EE lately for $1200 to $1500. Depends how much $$ you want to spend and where you want to spend it.....some people consider a $699 Lada money well spent.

Get a name brand Lower, and uppers you can mix and match.
Norincos are just fine if that's all you wanna spend.
they work just fine, it actually beats alot of the AR lowers and uppers made by small manufactures.
Many of my friends have them and they work well, occationally you see a weird one. But don't everything manufactured have flaws every now and than? Toyota, GM, Iphone, etc etc right?

BTW, it's probably cheaper than a Iphone LOL

Is there a difference between the M4 SFRC and Marstar sell? I'm just confused that there is a waiting list for Marstar and SFRC has the guns in stock (at $10 less, picked up).

Just got my Stag arms AR 15 .(.223) a few weeks ago and shot a couple of boxes at the range yesterday. Im quite impressed and content with everything. A very big kuddos to Steve and Walter at ArmsEast.

I would post a picture but cant seem to figure it out. & thanks for the tips and suggestions folks

I'm off to the range:ar15:

Buy a LMT. You will be happy with it. LMT even answers the phone and are nice and friendly if you want to call with stupid questions....

im kind of set on the AR model because it's something we use at work and im familiar with...and our annual qualification doesn't suffice if you ask me

Once you're all setup, get yourself into the Service Conditions shooting sport (Check out the Service forums on this site). It'll be just like additional practice!
