Being a Ruger fan I had to have their new SR22 when it came out. Lucky to get one when they first arrived here in Canada but was a little choked when I realized the telescoping stock was fixed. Dumb but that was the only way they could be imported. Still love that rifle and it's a shooter.

So I am in Wholesale Sports recently looking at guns and such and this guy beside me is considering buying an SR22. I chime in extolling the virtues of this gun but the only drawback is that the stock is fixed. He says, "Well this one isn't", and proceeds to move it back and forth!!! The sales guy says, "Oh yeah, that restriction was lifted and now all of them have working retractable stocks."
So if I want a retractable stock I have to buy one but all the ones coming in now are sold that way. I was not impressed. So what are the odds Ruger will trade me my fixed one for a working one? Any bets?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

:p I dont know about the R22 but I was pretty pissed my SR22 stock didnt telescope... The new ones have telescoping stocks the old ones require you to buy a new one for that feature. Shiity but thats Ruger...

Sorry, I meant SR22. I don't know that it is Ruger's fault so much as it is an American State department's call but it is not cool at any rate.

Amen to that, gun laws in Canada at points seriously blow a**. I just dont like to complain about them because I prefer free health care opposed to spending thousands in medical bills and being allowed to own almost any gun you want...

I got to try a buddy's new SR-22 with telescoping stock the other day. That is one nice piece of kit.

He had two young relatives out shooting as well and it was the cat's ass for instant length of pull adjustment for the kids.

Now just to save up some coin and buy one myself... :)

This is an issue of export regulations on the American side, nothing to do with Canadian gun laws.

I'll trade you my collapsible stock for a regular old A2 full stock.

He has the one which looks like it is collapsible, but isn't. Only the Remington 597 VTR came out with the A2 stock, much nicer, I agree. Personally I like the A2 stock look better but the collapsible is so great when taking the kids (or the wife/GF) to the range.

Kind of boring when all the rifles in my gun locker look the same, but that's what you need when you don't want to be alone at the range, lol.

You dont like to complain about Canadas gun laws because you think you get free health care? One has nothing to do with the other and Canadas health care system is not free.

Being one of the early SR-22 buyers, I'm stuck with the fixed stock too. Can't even make it adjustable. But atleast when I do put a new one on it, I can go with whatever I want.

Now, to make that trip to the gunsmith and get my barrel threaded...

Healthcare isn’t free x2

Geez, guys, this was just a minor rant about having to pay for an adjustable stock on my SR22 when new buyers get one with it. Yeah, I could put any one I want on it now but I paid enough for it as it was. Now I will have to shell out more if I decide I can't live without an adjustable stock. It is still an awesome gun and I wouldn't part with it for anything. But how we got from this to free Health Care (or not) . . . . ?

:confused::confused::confused:

Slap it onto ee at a good price someone will buy it then buy the new one or you can just give it to me and not have to go thru the whole shipping ordeal I think that's the best bet.
