well after long talking to co-workers & my son, I'm dropping all my guns and only shooting .22LR & .223cal this is including unloading my Custom AR15 & M14. There is really no place in the city for me to shoot my AR or M14 without having to drive more then 1.25 hours one way to shoot these things plus getting the time to leave the city for half a day. I can join a local club in the city which will work fine for me but they only allow pistol & rim fire long guns.

The cost of ammo is getting stupid these days, So I was thinking of getting a few rim fire .22 pistols like the 1911 in .22lr & Ruger 22/45 or even 10/22 rifle and work towards getting something going like Rim fire steel challenge going around my area. with the cost of .22 even going up, it's still affordable for most to shoot and can still be fun and challenging to compete with.

Colt Government Model in .45acp with a Kimber .22LR Conversion Kit and an Armalite AR15A2 with a Tactical Solutions AR-22 dedicated .22 LR upper. My AR-15 basicly seen the light of day twice a year because of the cost of either factory or reloaded ammo before I bought the conversion kits. This year I've already shot 2x 3 gun rimfire action matches. I'll be shooting another on sunday and another scheduled for late August. Plus if I have the desire to put on a "dog & pony" show for friends, I'm not wasting what little there is of the family fortune. Highly recommended combination. On top of that all of my belt kit that the .45 and .223 mags fit into also fit the .22 rifle and pistol mags as well, so there is no need to buy other accessories.

Keep your gun

I have a AR 15 with the 22lr upper it works great no issues after thousands of rounds. Very fun and cheap to shoot at the range. I also have an M&P15-22 with a blown extractor after less them 300 round. It's in getting fixed. Stick with the AR with the conversion kit.
