I find the safety lever on the shadow way too large and too easy to accidentally engage... I also think the right half of the safety is useless as I am a right handed shooter.

Is there something I can swap it out for? does an aftermarket safety exist?

also, would I void any warranty with cz if I file off a few mm from the safety lever?

I changed mine to the regular 75b safeties. Cannot shoot the gun without as I have big mitts. CeeZer should be able to hook you up.

Your thumb should be comfortably sitting on that safety while shooting anyways. Every competition tuned 1911/2011 I've ever seen (similar configuration) has larger extended external safeties for just that reason.

As for the right side one, I agree with you on that, but I've gotten used to it to an extent.

cool, thanks for the info.

Will springs start flying the instant I punch out the safety pin or will everything stay in place?

Ahh ok.. I see what you mean but I find it much more natural to hold with my right thumb under the safety and my left thumb curled over the right thumb... I know it's not the "proper" way to hold a pistol as both thumbs are not pointing forward but I much prefer it this way.

Cool, whatever works for you.
