Shorty M1A, M14, M305 projects ...

It doesn't matter how good the SRSS may or may not be, for us Canadians it's prohibited. Also, for lefties like myself, it's an utter impossibility to try and use that contraption. Unlike many bullpup designs, this one is not ambidextrous and cannot be made to work without getting an op rod handle or hot spent casing in the grill.
I look forward to hearing about it from him, especially with the lazy trigger bar setup.
However, my original comments about brass in the face, helmet, ergonomics etc are still items that I'd like to know more about....along with the lefty issue(I'm righty but still)
Also, the maker even admits that the two bolt, top rail system will work itself loose and will initially require occasional tightening until enough compression allows for crush seating.
That's not something that instills confidence since it means loss of zero.
Interesting design but really need more info once Lee comes out with a review.

I bet that trigger is on the stiff side.
like everything out of the US,
they are trying to turn other guns in to the AR, so they've set the top rail at a height where AR accessories will bolt on and just work
I contacted SRSS a few months ago and started selling off a few things to fund this project and I am unsure
as to when Different started looking at it. According to Rich over at SRSS Different and myself will be purchasing
the first two production models. Anyway, each of us will own and use one of these stocks. Range reports, observations
and evaluations will follow. If Different goes with a short barreled action I will go with a longer barrel. Both of us own DC sound
suppressors. I will send in a spare ChiCom op rod with my payment, this will get the ambi-mod.
I have created a special SRSS board on The M14HDW Forum and that is were the bulk of our reports will be posted.

Can you elaborate on the ambi-mod? The issue of the oprod for lefties(being jabbed in the face) as well as for ergonomics for righties is one of the first things I noticed.
Is the ambi-mod essentially getting a knob mounted further forward like the Israeli M14 bullpup?
I see what you mean now. I was going to ask about the left side channel and wasn't sure about the tab. It almost looks like they clamp on a winged piece that serves as the oprod tab for both sides to make it ambi.
This mod makes a lot more sense for handling ergonomics as even for a right-handed shooter with the original configuration, it seems awkward to operate.
If this is an option, they should consider offering a more closed up butt cover, ie only a top opening/slightly right opening for the ejection port but close off the oprod track so there is practically no chance of oprod pinch as well as 'cheek full of grease' syndrome.
