When I bought my Sig P226 it didn't look that bad. Actually it kinda looks like that now after I put 5000 rounds through it. The Bottom of my barrel is allittle more worn down than yours is, but it doesn't look normal to me. That's why I'm ify about buy firearms online... I like to physically see the item before I go ahead a purchase it. I hope everything works outs for you. You can also go to a gun store and check out a new sig and see if the wear is consistent with what you have.... But I doubt it will be.
As stated above Mec GAR is the company that supplies mags to Sig. Although I hear that Sig has now changed to an American supplier for mags. I have a Sig 228 and a Sig 229 that I bought from Questar and the mags that came with the pistols were the same as yours. They are indeed high cap mags which they aparently weld to limit to 10 rounds. They scrape off some of the coating on the mags to do this. The scraped off, covered up part is not that pretty but the mags work fine.
Its hard to see if there is real wear on the parts or not but the "smilies" on the barrel are normal. Sig test fires the pistol and verifies function before it leaves the factory. They don't clean the pistol afterwards and yours might have had some extra rounds fired to correct the sights etc. Enjoy your new pistol and don't worry.

IF I was knew I didn-t buy this gun. I spend 1100$ for a guns that look like used. My glock and steyr have better looking than that for 700$ I still didn't believe thats a new gun.
And other point. On the picture the gun havebetter mag and the case is blue like review onthe net. It's kinda fals representation now in get crapy mag and black case.

My advice is to stop posting here until you contact the seller. You have a complaint and need to let the seller deal with it before you tell everyone here about it. Let them have a chance before getting bent out of shape about it!

You should've contacted the seller first before posting pictures here and claim Questar sells used pistol. Whatever the problem is, if you are not satisfied with what you received, Mark will make it right. Publicly crying first and asking for redemption after is not a good practice.
The mags are high cap pinned mags, those require some manual handling so some people weld a part in them so you cannot put more than 10 rounds in there. So it's normal that they look a bit "used". All SIG mags supplied with SIG pistols nowaday are made by Mec Gar Italy.

The wear on the hammer is totally normal, when the slide is racked, the silver line in the middle of the back of the slide puts the hammer down; do this part is not finished and so it the top of the hammer.

Wow... saw your email this morning and read your post here on Gunnutz. Interesting that your first reaction was to post on Gunnutz (9:17pm) and then 25 minutes later you sent us an email (9:42pm).
Let's begin by first of all stating clearly for the record: You were sold and shipped a brand new gun as it was sold and shipped to us by SIG USA. The only thing that has been changed are the magazines, which by Canadian law we were required to limit to 10 rounds and we do this by welding a metal plate inside the magazine... doing that requires the magazines be disassembled, welded, painted, reassembled and test fit to insure that they hold no more than 10 rounds of ammo. They are then inserted back in the gun to fit test... but they are not fired by us.
If the gun has been fired then it is done by SIG themselves before they package and ship them to us.
As for all the rest of your post and comments made by a number of others, it's pure fantasy. The gun is NOT used... we have not done anything wrong. Your emailed threat suggesting you "should call the police" is fine with me... please go ahead and do so if that will make you feel better.

I am sorry that you apparently are not happy with your purchase... but we have supplied you the gun as advertised and as purchased... a factory new SIG pistol as supplied to us by SIG the only exception being the magazines which are modifed to meet Canadian restrictions.

I would like to thanks all the comunity for helping to make the light on that. Scott Talk to me and make me in good way to understand whats happen. ITs because when the mags came here they have to be welded. For the rest I trust him. So life goes on! SO I admit for the next time I have to talk first with the dealer.

Questar really does not do a basic function check of their inventory before shipping out to customers, that I can ateast to 100% from my last Questar bumble.
I have no idea on your gun but I got one of those Sig pinned mags awhile back too and the pin job is a joke.
Whoever does the "pinning work" has no idea how to use a mig welder and gets slag all over the inside of the mag. I spent 2 hours grinding it clean of slag with a dremel so the follower would even function.

1-On the site on there is no place at all where they tell the mag are welded and the picture did'nt show that.
2- AS everybody can see I'm not the only one thats thing happen and A LOT of Sig owner dont get this mag but blued one.
3-Maybe questar ROCK like you say but they didnt rock 100%. I realy thing that they should put picture of those mag on the site.
For this post, maybe some people find it sad, but it will remind to ask this like of question before buying things and they will know that some store do some job like that.

I try my gun today and I realy love it. Very accurate! So one thing about it is that's the slide never stop open after the last round. After the last round the hammer are cocked then i do dry fire. Some guys at the range tell me that happen when we use 115gr or if you grip the guns not enough stiffer.
