What i basically would like to know is what are the restricions on hunting coyotes in the wmu 65 district. Do i need a small game licence and how many can i take in day and what is the season.

any help on where i can get some info or if you know yourself please lat me know. all help in apriciated.

thanks Brandon

Coyotes (and foxes) are open year round...you can shoot as many as you can find. (make sure you get permission form the landowner)

You need a small-game license. There are no caliber/firearm restrictions in the area for small-game.

"...You need a small-game licence..." Yep. No wolf/coyote game seal required or bag limits though. The wolf/coyote rules are under 'Small Game' in the hunting regs.
"...my friends barn yard..." Defending live stock falls under different rules than hunting. You might be able to be appointed as an agent for your buddy.

For the sake of $20.75...get a small game licence. You need it if you are going to hunt anything else anyways.

"Defending" livestock can be very subjective and open to wide interpretation by a CO.

$21 is CHEAP insurance against firearm confiscation, and a court date. ;)

"..."Defending" livestock can be very subjective..." Not by a landowner/farmer whose livelihood may be at stake.
Certainly don't disagree about getting the licence anyway. Operative word is 'might'.

Relying of premise of "defending livestock" (w/o a licence) is a big gamble.

Are you defending your livestock if the threat is: immediate, yes...25 yards away, ya sure....100 yards away, not so clear.

What YOU consider defending your livestock...might not be the same as a CO.

That is why I said it is subjective..hence the reason to buy a SG licence.
