Edit: Just saw bjs' post above. That Turret kit will work, just add safety prime, dies, tumbler, bullet puller. That kit has:
1. the older style aluminum base/frame
2. the Lee powder scale that is IMO, difficult to use, but then I am used to the RCBS 505 which is one of the best beam powders scales.
In fact, I bought one of these kits off the EE last year (for about the same price) for my buddy and was so impressed with it that I got the Classic for myself.
With 500 bucks to spend on a few pistol and rifle calibers, I'd go with the Lee Classic Cast Iron Turret with Safety Prime, a Lee Pro-Auto Disk Powder measure, a Lee Perfect Powder measure, a case tumbler (any brand will do for a start but make sure to cut a few holes in the bottom cover plate for motor ventilation), powder scale (RCBS preferred-used ones go for about 40 bucks on the EE) and a bullet puller.
You'll still have enough cash to buy perhaps 2-4 sets of Pistol/Rifle dies/turrets and the shipping costs (USPS only-never UPS as they will gouge you for brokerage fees) for the whole package from the USA. You can order from a Canadian dealer for maybe 20% more, and help our economy.
You will only have to upgrade if you start shooting a lot more pistol for competition, or need much more accurate rifle ammo for bench rest comp.
