Stoeger Condor Competition Combo 12/20

I bought one a few years back in a 20 ga from Wholesale. It looks OK and I've put about 1000 rounds through it without problems.
I recently looked at one in a 12ga. The finish doesn't seem to be as good as it was, and it really seems to be off balance. I had plans on buying on, but it stayed in the store instead.

What problems did you have with yours?

None! I would not buy one! I have worked in a sporting store for over 10 years and have sold many in spite of my very open opinion of them. I can not count how many complaints I have. Poor finish! Cracked wood near action! Cracked wood on fore stock. Fail to fire! Fail to eject! Some seem to be happy with theirs. Usually those who do not shoot much! A shooting pal of mine wanted to buy one and I told him it was a POS and suggested he did not buy it. He got ticked with me and bought one from Cambodian Tire just to show me. He shoots trap and registered sporting with his. In a round of 100 he usually has a half dozen failure to fire. In fun shoots he is not penalized but in registered shoots he gets called as lost target after three malfunctions. Its pull bang click or just pull click, uh sorry, I just had it fixed eh! No one wants to shoot with him on their squad. When anyone suggests that he buy another gun he says that it works fine most of the time and that is good enough for him.

Ranger,
I have no doubt that your Condor has served you well. The OP asked about the competition model. I am not very competative any more, but from time to time I will shoot a flat in an afternoon and often a flat in a week, just for fun and to smell the powder. 4000 rounds works out to about 4 months. I have never seen a condor continue to function at that rate. At 4000 rounds a good competition gun is just getting broke in. If one were looking for a cheap competition gun I would advise getting the oldest and most worn out citori before I would advise getting a condor. I have never seen a citori that did not have more life left than a new condor. A condor may be able to break targets as well as a perazzi, but is just not capable of being there for the long haul. By the time that a shooter has shot enough to be intimate with his gun it will die or be very sick.

I also have a plain condor I've had for about 10yrs. I don't say that it have fired 300 shots in that 10 years. I have not had any trouble but I don't think it would stand up to any amount of high volume shooting. Ok for the odd hunt here and there.
