HK vs. Colt video... might be a repost.

If you have the money go with the HK variant, if cost is too much of a concern go with the COLT or some other manufacture, it really depends on your budget, if you have never owned an AR variant before start with something less expensive!

Fair enough. I understand what you are saying. What's one of the "cheaper" high-quality AR-15 manufacturers?

Just browse through Questar or Wolverines, there is an alphabet of companies, it depends on your budget!

What are planning on spending?

I'd like to stay under $2k, thats the plan if I its an AR-15. It looks like that should get me a decent setup, or no?

Does this include optics, flash light, bi-pod and most importantly ammo...?

If yes then go with M4 norinco or better yet stay away from AR's and buy something else!

Agreed... $2k including optics and ammo is going to be mighty hard without starting on a Norinco.

However, $2k or less will get you a very nice Bushmaster (ask me how I know about the Bushy being in the $1,600-$1,800 range) as a great platform to further customize as funds allow. As a matter of fact, P+D Enterprises (click their banner above) has the Bushmaster XM15 20" right now for $1,550...

A nice platform that I can build on would be ideal. I much rather do that than buy a "low quality" setup... I don't need optics right away, but would like to make sure I can upgrade. Also, if a longer barrel is cheaper, than I can replace it with a shorter one later...

Stag /Bushmaster/RRA etc etc doesn't matter you will be fine! Call the links above tomorrow and they will help you!

Well, speaking from my own experience, I really like my Bushmaster XM15E2S (which is like the one I referenced above, but with a 16" CAR length front end).

It's pretty damned slick, if you ask me. Runs like a sewing machine too, no problems in many, many rounds.

I agree with the general consensus here... if you have the money to spend, HK is "superior," but ain't nothing wrong with the other standard ARs.

I fall in the second category... wish I had an HK but can't afford it so got my S&W M&P15 which is just fine and dandy

Go with an AR. For the price of a used HK you can buy an AR, a middle high end quality optic for $800, twenty (20) x 10 round LAR magazines, and have enough change leftover to buy 2000 rounds of factory loaded .223 ammunition. And they'll both do the same thing.

HK, KAC, COLT all on my list of TO BUY settling with LMT for now :D. Anyone know if we can get the 10.3" LMT Upper's for an authentic MK18 Mod 1 IIRC?

Anyone else notice he held that HK out of the water for nearly the full 2 seconds on Test A, and barely had the Colt to his shoulder before he pulled the trigger? I wonder if that was 'editing for time' or if it was a true comparison... 'm jus' sayin'.....

It is, after all, a sales video for HK....
