For those F Class shooters who find the full week plus of the CFRC a little too long ,this maybe your opportunity to participate in an International level of
Team F Class Long Range shooting against some of the BEST in the sport without leaving Canada.

3 days of LR shooting (and I would think at least 1 night of celebration) on Canada's Connaught Ranges and a chance to be a part of The Canadian F Class Team... priceless.
Think about it and start planning.Aug 19 fast approaches.

Folks, just to help clarify some points. The America Match will be contested against an American Team, and possibly a team from South Africa. Shooters selected for this match will be shooters only- coaches will be selected seperatly. We are confident that we will be able to field a very competative team, and look forward to a hotly contested tryout.
Team shooting is a very different animal from individual match shooting- it's your chance as a shooter to concentrate on making perect shots on a coach's call, without having to worry about the wind. Please ask questions- Gord and I are here to answer!

Matt, some of the dates in the notice are wrong.

What date is the match? Sunday the 22nd or Saturday the 21st? The opening para says it's on Sunday the 20th which cannot be correct.

FYI there will be three teams competing, the South Africans are now confirmed to be attending.

I think that the Canadian team will be capable of winning the match, but they are going to have some extremely strong competition to do so. Which is exactly how it should be.

If the South Africans are coming I think I'm going to have to figure out how to swing an appearance at Connaught for this. Anyone driving out from west of Winnipeg for the CFRC that could haul a front rest and few other items for me?

Just so I'm clear on when and what, here's what I read in the announcement:
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Team tryout matches
Thursday Aug 19 (PM)
The Street - 2 and 15 at 700,800 and 900m
"Candidates team match" - unknown round count and distances to follow The Street (essentially squadded coached practice for team candidates)

Friday Aug 20 (PM)
The Hayhurst - 2 and 10 at 300, 500 and 600 yds
Team selection announcement

Team events
Saturday Aug 21
F Class Match (AM) - 2 and 15 at 700, 800 and 900m

Sunday Aug 22
The America Match
2 and 15 at 300, 600, 900 and 1000 yards, or 300, 600, 800 and 900 metres, as appropriate to the venue. (Anyone know what the official distances will be?)

Hey Les that'd be great!

On the DCRA web page there is a link "2010 Canadian Championship Detailed Schedule" which is probably useful to refer to.
