Any idea How you get and keep the little pin check back so you can slide out the take down pin and change it????. I bought a set of quick takedown pins from brownells. I swaped out the pivot pin but can't get the pin check to release the takedown pin.

Any ideas??????

Remove the butt. The detent and detent spring are retained by the butt, just as the selector detent spring and detent are retained by the grip.

When the forward takedown pin has been opened normally as for cleaning, you will see a small hole in the top of it. Find a long pin and push down the hole it will compress the takedown detent pin and spring. While keeping it pushed down, wiggle the takedown pin away from the receiver a bit until it passes over the detent pin. The detent pin and spring will be kept in their hole until the takedown pin passes out of its' place. Of course, once the hole is passed the detent pin and spring will want to fly across the room.

Do this on something that will not lose small, really small parts, so easily. Maybe lay down a towel and work on it. Place your hand over top of where the detent pin and spring will fly out of.

Thanks guys, I just removed the butt, swaped out the pin. No upper and lower slop now, She is nice and tight.

The factory Norinco pivot pin had so much play, my upper and lower would wobble. swaped out the pins for a set of yankie hill quick take down pins, Problem solved, nice and tight, no play.

There's one solution to fixing your upper and lower slop on your Cq556's
