Just got a new SKS from Epps. Great service. $179 and it came with three clips, two ammo pouches, sling, and an oil bottle. Overall I'd say I'm happy with the purchase.

Anyway, I didn't really get to much information about it, maybe you guys could tell me exactly what I got.

EDIT: Sorry about the huge pics. I haven't figured out how to resize yet.

Its a russian refurb Tula 1954 7.62x39mm 5rn mag internal : ) thats all i know lol ohh did the seller forgot to give u a sling?

No he remembered. I just couldn't figure out how to put it on until after I took the pictures.

What do you mean not "pinned" the best way?

He mean "frankenpinned", a chunk of steel welded to the bottom of the mag, destroying the original serial# so that's why the number is electropenciled on the mag side.

They call it "Tiger" stock in Russia. Rare so you got lucky. As to rifle yes it is heavily refurbished as many people agree here . All I can say somebody is dumping those at pretty good price for the buyer.
Pining is another question but we will discuss it later

Very nice rifle. I also have a '54 Tula refurb and it's a great shooter.

The only problem I've encountered is that Frankenpinning is not an exact science and mine will take six rounds off a stripper clip but the top one isn't clipped in to the mag, it just sort of sits loose on top of the others. I think they call that "5 1/2" and I've heard of some only taking 4 1/2 rounds. Just something to watch for.
