Good .22LR Pistol for Newbie

I have a P89 DC that I am in the process of selling.
I would like to buy a .22LR pistol and am torn between the Browning Buck Mark and the Ruger Mark III.
Looking for something as an introductory small bore pistol at a reasonable price.
If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them.
X-posting this to pistol and revolver section as well. If I shouldn't do this, mods please do your thing!

I just bought a Browning Buck Mark Camper and have yet to shoot it as I just passed the clubs new member safety course. I asked for opinions on the U.S. site similar to this Canadian gun site, go to The High Road (THR) and look for my thread under the same name shown at left.
I will be able to test my new gun on Saturday and will let you know how it goes.
The thread I mentioned was made on July 3 2010 and got 20 replies all favorable to the Browning.
Is that a pocket Colt in your avatar?????
 
I have a Ruger MKIII that I've really been having some fun with. The biggest complaint that you hear about these pistols is that they're hard to dis-assemble. It's not that bad once you learn how to do it, and there are lots of videos on YouTube that show how to do it step by step. I'm finding that the Ruger isn't very picky about ammo unlike a few other models on the market.
 
you gotta throw the beretta neos into the mix as well- that's what i ended up with- the ruger was somewhat overpriced, and the buckmark felt "clunky" as well as overpriced

I started off with 2 possible guns, now have a list of 4 or 5.
Like the idea of the Sig Sauer with the interchange kit, but the base price is out of my budget at the moment.
So I am now "down" to:
a) Ruger Mk III;
b) Browning Buck Mark;
c) Sig Sauer;
d) CZ Kadet;
e) Beretta Neos.

Hmmm - you guys ain't making this any easier!!!

We recently went shopping for a .22, mainly for my wife but I'll use it at times as well. She had the final say and fortunately she picked the one I hoped she would, which was the Beretta Neos. We really liked a Kimber we handled, but at over $900 it was too rich for us. I'm now shopping for another pistol for me. It will likely be a Neos as well, unless I come across a real deal on something else.
 
My vote goes for the Browning buckmark. I liked it so much that I bought a second one and put a fiber optic front sight on it. Works well, and does not need any mods because it already shoot well enough. Disassembly is a breeze, and it is easy to just use a bronze brush to scrub when the action is open is thing get a little gummed up due to bad ammo. Slap a red-dot and you are golden.

I don't have one yet, but I'm looking at the Buck Mark Camper as well. Had a look at one at a local shop. It felt right to me. I tried a Ruger Mk II recently. I didn't feel quite as comfortable with it.

What I'd really like is to get my hands on a Medalist.

+1 for Buck Mark

I've had four Rugers so far (1 - MK II, 1 - MK III, 2 - 22/45) but settled down with the Buck Mark UDX SS. Nothing against the Ruger, the Browning is simply a personal preference for the look and feel of it.
I must admit, the new 22/45 with removable grips looks really good. I had to force myself out of the gun store before buying one yesterday. :D
 
Ruger 22/45.

Stripping and reassembly isn't really that hard.

except initially to remove the receiver from the frame you need to hit it REALLY hard with a plastic or rawhide mallet to remove it!!!

After you shoot it, it loosens up and is easier to remove.
