Glock17 gen3 vs Glock17 gen4

Hello all,

I do not know if this may help to someone but I was asked not long time ago to make this comparsion video. It is very basic but gives you an idea of differences between gen3 and gen4 of Glock17

Yes, should be backwards compatible.

Yes as long as you have the mag release on the same (left-standard)side. It's reversible on the Gen4, hence the mag catch notch on both sides of the magazine.

If he is right handed and used his right hand to pull the trigger on the 4th gen, then it will seem lighter.


I like the bigger mag release on the gen 4 glock, that's one thing I did not like on the gen 3.

Can't get a Advantage Arms 22LR conversion kit for a Gen 4 so as far as I am concerned the Gen 4's are crap at least until AA gets caught up and produces a kit that works...

The glock Gen4 has a problem.
If you push the striker pin back a notch (like you normally would before pushing the bushing down and take the striker pin out ) after you field strip it. you will have a hard time putting the gun back together on the frame.
