Howdy, I have one-the finish was really nice until I put a little scratch on it when the small screwdriver slipped when I was taking it apart.

No rough machineing marks etc. Just a nice smooth finish. later

Are the sharp edges taken care of before they coated the frame?
All the new Norinco's I've bought needed de-horning of sharp edges and then touch up with some cold blue....

Good to hear (about the sharp edges) maybe the plating smoothed out the edges.

disagree. i have the sports model as well and purchased it recently, but from canam.

it does definitely have sharp edges. that being said, still and amazing .45. love tinkering with it.

My new sports model has sharp edges on the safety, slide release and some smaller parts. I might smooth them down by hand, and coat them later. I plan to arma-coat the frame and slide after i find a local shop to sandblast the finish off.

i just bought a norinco model M1911A1C in .45 the finish is beautiful but it is so inacurate i couldent hit a barn door from inside with the doors closed lol

at what distance? mine is ok at 15 yards, but not accurate enough to score consistent -0 hits. at 25 yards i'd probably be hitting the next zip code.

The Norinco np-28-29 are excellent guns for the money. The trigger pull is quit heavy from the factory but easily fixed with a trigger job. I have had both the 28 and 29. The 28 is quite wide for someone with small hands.

That's odd, mine is very accurate - get it Armco'd you'll be pleased with the result. Standing unsupported at 25 yards mine will dump 2 mags into the head of a B27 target, leaving a ragged fist sized hole.

1911 accuracy comes primarily from the fit of the barrel to the slide and bushing, and then from the fit of the slide to frame; but even the loosest new 1911 should shoot into 5 inches at 25 yards.
