Just picked up some LAR15 mags. I am new to the AR scene and was wondering if all the mags look/feel this cheap? I saw the Norinco 5/30s and they looked just as cheap. Do the Bushmasters or any other AR mags look/feel like they are made of better quality? I have read some good reviews on the LAR15s but they just seem for lack of a better word "fragile".

Its funny how many recommendations you are getting to buy PMAGs or something else.

IMO, the only reason anyone buys LAR mags is to have a 10 round capability, so buying a PMAG doesn't really do it.

Thanks guys. I was looking some pmags on Questar's site. What does unfinished/unfitted mean? I hate being a newbie all over again but those da#$ $699 M4s pulled me in to a new game. :p

The added 5 rounds is worth the money. The fact that they aren't butchered with pop rivets makes them appealling.

Yes I think it was just Danimal247 that gave me a complex. :p He was with me when I picked up the mags and convinced me they are cheap. :p They have grown on me since yesterday. But I still am going to pick up a couple of the 5/30 pmags.

The LAR mags will never have that "AR-15 look" to them but having 10 rounds is pretty nice.

hey cbabes, when I was at Orono today a guy named John let me shoot his Bushmaster AR15 with holo/dot sight ... that gun felt substantially heavier than the Norinco, it was pretty shocking!

I shot about 15 rounds through it and had a blast, now I can't wait to get one - his mag was a polymer 5/30 but no better quality or anything. I guess as long as it feeds you'll be okay, it's nice to have 10 rounds or 20 with the coupler!!
