Thats not a CTR, that's a MOE. And is it possible that you have a commercial MOE on a mil-spec reciever extension?

Your right it is a MOE stock (printed on the side)lol. Might be commercial. The box has milspec printed on it though. I have my doubts now. Thanks for bursting my bubble. I'm absolutely getting a full stock now.

Can't wait for magpul to release their rifle lenght MOE handguard, dissipator would look wicked with on of those.

Grab an actual CTR for that thing, it will be MILES ahead of the MOE.

Brownells should ship them up here if they are in stock (I think 97 bucks US)

Looks really good, and Im glad the rifle length gas system is working for ya! :D

At the range today with finished rifle. Can honestly say that this the best carbine I ever fired. It ran flawlessly.

I sort of got used to the magpul sights. I noticed that they are on a different plane with the front sights. I really had to crank the front sight down to get a proper zero. I do like they way they snap up. I'll get a better set after my next build. I see you have an lmt buis for sale. hmmmmmm.
I'm aiming for an ACOG as well. I just have a hard time buying optics for a carbine worth twice the rifle.
adios.

Thanks for the info, I've been wondering about those Magpul units. Yeah I hear you, not much point in breaking the bank on sights & optics for a "budget" build. Not that it is a cheap gun... oh hell you know what I mean :p;).

Was selling the LMT sight because I'm bored... pulled it now. Again - nice looking rifle, those dissipator setups really float my boat. Cheers!

sorry to zombie a long dead thread, i read though it however i was wondering something.

F22 mentioned that the gen one dissy rifles had under pressure issues but that was with the DI system, if one were to drop a piston kit could that correct the under pressure issue?

I can't speak about piston driven ARs but I think if the gas port was enlarged slightly by drilling it would work with a regular gas tube. I plan to build another one by cutting down a 20" barrel, opening up the port and installing a regular gas tube.
