So I am in the process of doing a breacher build up, i have an 870 with a dlask 12.5" barrel with a remington breacher choke. I just bought a surefire forend, after the purchase I got to thinking, will the flashlight stick out way further than the barrel? I would check but my shotgun is in victoria getting drilled and tapped. Any input would be great.

yes, significantly.

your barrel will be flush with the end of the mag cap, so with the knurled ring on the mag extension above.

personally this is one of the reasons im not a huge fan of the bulky Surefire Forends. IMO a simple railed forend with a robust quick-release light mount is a superior solution since it lets you simply remove and pack the light at times you are not using it, and the forend itself is the same contour/size as a typical 870 forend. theres also plenty of room to move the light back to accomodate shorter barrel lengths.

i should also note that depending on the Dlask barrel you have, you may have to actually shave some plastic from the Surefire forend to get it to 'fit', since the barrels are fatter than the normal 870 barrel contour. i had to cut quite a bit from my Hogue forend to fit my Dlask barrel. this does not seem like a good idea on an expensive Surefire forend since itll destroy the resale value.

o joy, another question about the o rings that are suppose to come with the forend, are these an absolute must have for the forend? I ask this only because the one i bought was stated as "amazing condition, and as it turns out it does not come with the box, tool (which I have) or the o ring.

The Rem Choke extends the length of the barrel by 1 15/16". You should be fine with a +1 mag extention and the light pictured above. The OP pic might extend past just a touch;)

The extension would save the surefire but would do so by taking a beating from the porting. I would imagine it would leave leopard print stains on the finish, or at least some nasty discolouration under the breacher. I once had a light extend about 1/2" past the muzzle on one of my shotguns and it left some good discolouration on the finish
