Got a new toy today...

Aluminum frame & steel slide. A bit lighter than the CZ but heavier than the M&P. Comes with extra mags, grips for $1K. The reason I picked this was all about the feel. It felt just right in my hand and the weight was also right on. I almost went with the 92F but 226 was just more comfy.
 
hmm, i thought that the Sig has a steel inner skeleton with a polymer covering... or am i thinking of SVI stuff???

Not true. I only compete once a year at 50m, but many people do this regularly with either .22 or 9mm. I've seen guys put 10/10 in a space about 8in across. Practice enough and you can do it too. Unfortunately for me, I don't get enough practice time, but I'm working on it.
What I've been doing is shooting a full box of 50 and seeing how many are in the bull. So far, my best is 23/50, but the rest are on the paper at least.
 
ok, so what exactly is a CPO Sig 226? how is it different from a normal Sig 226? i've only been learning about Sig for a few days, but never came across the CPO version. i thought most Sig 226 guns were 1100+ (Epps shows a 226R version for just shy of 1200)
 
No question Sig makes nice stuff. Personally, I've always found them too clubby in the grip for me hence never owning one. I find the BHP MkIII fits me best and that is what I have for a double stack 9mm these days.

CPO = Certified Pre-Owned. Basically, factory refurbished Sigs. Great value in a Sig.

hmm, interesting. didn't know such a thing existed. are they sold through the same regular dealers, or a different source?

i've only shot a Sig once, a whole 10 rounds through a 226 Navy, and for the most part it was nice.

Thanks NAA, The "clubby" comment sounds like my issue with Glock's. I found that the Glock felt like I was holding a beer. I don't mind holding a beer but I don't want to shoot with one. I have a very large hand so the SIG fits perfectly as compared to others I tried.
 
Interesting.... I find the Beretta 92 series clubby, too. But I do like the Glock 17/22 series frames for shooting. In fact I carried a G22 for ~ 15 years and shot it alot. Guess they grow on you over time.

haha! this is interesting - i find the G22, Beretta, and Sig to all be nice and comfy in my hands. most other guns feel a bit small.

going to the range today. i'm gonna have to see if anyone brings a Sig so that i can give it a closer evaluation... once is not enough!
