Hi there I've been a member for a couple years just haven't posted much. Tried the search but couldn't find anything on this subject so I thought I would ask. What's your opinion on which is better the Cynergy or the Citori. I like the Citori myself but maybe I'm just an old fart and set in my ways. Am I missing something by not considering the Cynergy?

I am a little older as well. I have owned both, in sporting models. My opinion is that neither is better than the other. Just different. You are not missing anything if you are happy with your Citori. At present I am playing with a Citori XS Special with the high post rib. I really like it.
If I was going to a shoot tomorrow?..............................I would take one of my Beretta Parallel Targets:D

Yes. Cynergy uses pistol triggers instead of inertia triggers, and on double trap there IS a speed difference. I find my Cynergy Composite 30" swings a little faster than a Citori, and not because of weight, but because of a better CG behind the shooters hands with the cynergy.

I like the low recoil of the Cynergy too, and with less cast in the stock, it seems to fit me better than the Citori.

The better gun for me is by far the Cynergy. My Citori now collects dust, and when i do pull it out to shoot clays, all I can say is, man oh man, how far we have come.

I have had both + a BT99. Actually several BT99. I sold the BT's and Citori and now use the Cynergy and I really like it. Right out of the box it fit me perfect and I like the green front sight.
I just ordered a Xtra full choke for it for handicap targets.....hope it gets here soon

Looks like I'm going to have to give a Cynergy a try next time I'm out at the sporting clay range. Thanks guys.

No problem. I have already converted some die hard Citori fans to Cynergy.

Honestly, both are great to shoot. But even the die hard Citori Lightning guys cast some very envious looks my way. You will always run into the bias because Citori is a household name in the land of shotgunning.

Having said that, the LOP, lower receiver height, fast swing, ... too many positives to list.

I will say you need to TRY one before you commit though. about 1 in 10 people dso not fit the cynergy... gorrilla length arms i think.

Anyhow, there is a STEAL of a deal on a Cynergy Composite like mine in the buy and sell on this site. If I had extra cash i would pick it up for that money, no questions asked.

In the last week I have compared a whole bunch of different cynergy guns to a bunch of citori guns. I did not get a chance to shoot them all, nor did I want to. It depended on the models which I liked better. In hunting and sporting guns I liked the cynergy classic better than the standard or euro style. For a hunting gun, I am not overly fond of the 12 gauge lightning but I like the 20. When it came to sporting guns I like the high post citori models better than any of the cynergy guns. My present Citori is an XS Special High Post with an adjustable comb. Which I prefer or my go to competition gun? For now, it would be one of my 391 parallel targets.

i hink im gonnna stick with my citori i just got thr trap xt and getting good results in sporting clays and trapo so im gonnna stay ols school to. at least there tried and tested true

Quick Question, do you find the lop shorter or longer. i am in process of purchasing a doubles gun and really appreciate the input on the cynergy because as you put it the citori is the religion around here. Seems as a women shooter I would appreciate the adjustments etc???

It depends on how you adjust the stock and the trigger. I have my trigger set to the most rearward position, no spacer in the recoil pad and it fits me like a glove.

So.. I think the LOP overall is slightly shorter, which would be why browning designed spacers for the recoil pad and the trigger position adjustment.

If you don't have a Cynergy handy, we could probably find a club in between both of us for you to try it out, and see if you like it.

I have the Euro Sporting Composite with 30" barrels. The top of the stock is even adjustable as well as the recoil pad, and trigger, so it can truly be 'tuned' to your shooting style and body type. I do like the 'crispness' of the triggers in the Cynergy over the Citori, although there is slightly more overtravel in the Cynergy triggers than the Citori.

Love how it points though. Just killer. My game has improved since owning the Cynergy. Not because it is 'better' than any other, but because it fits me better everywhere. And if you shoot a rifle at all, you will really fall in love with the lower receiver height. The stock is almost 'cast neutral' which I find promotes good mounting mechanics. From below the hip to firing position, it slips right into the pocket without a thought.

The Cynergy is a lot of gun for the money. FWIW a friend of mine bought a wood version. I do not like it as much as the composite. The stock has more traditional cast to it, and being ambidextrous (i shoot left or right) I find that It just doesn't fit me as well (and for the record, all my other guns are wood stocks).

Hope this helps.

Got Juice?

Great food for thought, I appreciate it very much. I will find one to try out, I'm a little isolated (in terms of gun purchasing stores) but we all know that if we really want it we'll find it!!!! :)

Thanks again

If you get in a jam sourcing one let me know. You might be able to talk me out of mine for a test drive.

One thing I did not mention was the low recoil of the Cyn. The inflex recoil system and the ported barrels do a yeoman's job of controlling recoil. AA 1 oz loads are a cakewalk to shoot.
