Safest action?

Although I doubt a Savage action is as strong as a 700 in overall strength and stiffness, I would think it would handle escaping gas better than a 700 due to the fact that they have two sets of gas baffles completely blocking both lug raceways.
The second baffle is located at the rear of the bolt,shroud/cam, whatever you want to call it. Probably not as effective as the front baffle.
i find the story by fclassguy very interesting. over the years i have seen many guns come into my friends gunsmith shop that had suffered a ruptured case most of these were from firing the wrong cartridge for the gun. actions ranged from remington 700s, 788s, rugers, parker hale commercial 98, p14 enfield, voere 3 lug action and others i can't remember. some of the actions suffered serious damage but amazingly i never heard of anyone being injured from these mishaps.

I read a article once on the Remington falling block action that claimed they overloaded it to the point of projectiles and wads being stuffed into the barrel untill they were right to the muzzle and it refused to blow up.
It was fired by a string with the participants standing behind a concrete safety wall.
