Ever noticed how similar these two are?

Has anybody ever tried both so we could get info on why we should buy beretta instead of its cheaper lookalike?

From what Ive heard they are both accurate and reliable...

For the money I'd go with the hi point! The only reason to go baretta is the chance to convert it to non restricted. The hi point barrel is integrated into the frame somehow I believe which makes it a pain in the ass. If the hipoint could be made non restricted I'd buy one real quick!

I never heard of a non res in 9mm. I didnt know the beretta could be non res either!

IMO the Hi-Point would be a hot seller if it were non-restricted. One of our dealers was in contact about getting some with NR length barrels but was told that seeing as they can't keep up with domestic demand special runs for Canada are unlikely anytime soon.

I have both. I use them for shooting at the range. The Hi-point is haif the price and mags will only hold 5 rounds. The Hi-Point at one time was classed prohib and Ruger carbine was not sold in Canada. So i bought the storm. I don't plan on hunting with the storm so i leave it restriced. The guns work great for me. Triggers are not the best, but they are a fun gun to shoot. If the Hi-point was sold in Canada a few years ago, I would have bought just it. Just my 2 cents AGE

I just took delivery of my new Hi-Point, haven't had it out to the range yet.
Kinda fugly like my Hi-Point 40 S&W. :D
I assume that it is restricted due to the barrel length ( excuse my ignorance, I'm new to the Black and Evil rifles ). If one adds the "compensator" that is available for it, any chance of it being changed from restricted?

It is restricted because of barrel lenght.

Compensator doesn't change anything in barrel lenght because it is not rifled (stupid CFC arbitrary rule)
