Hey Guys;

I picked this baby up from D&L Airguns. I'll pretty much let the pics do the talking, save to say that this thing is the same weight & dimensions as a "real" AK74. Very solid and fun to shoot tin cans with!!!:ar15:

Here is the link to the Izhmash factory, http://www.izhmash.ru/eng/product/yunker2.shtml

I believe the only difference from the 3 to the 4 is the 30 rounds that the 4 carries as opposed to the 18 rounds the Yunker 3 carried...

Cheers
Jay
P.S. Post pics of yours guys, I can't be the only guy with one of these things!

Good!! Only things that you are missing right now are Kobra sight and GP25/30!!

BTW can you tell if the barrel is smoothbore or rifled? If it is rifled, get some lead round shots for it...... Gamo makes them in .177.

How does it shoot ?

I've only had it out once, it was "minute of tin can", ie no problem hitting a tin can at 15 or so yards. No opportunity to "bench it" yet... Just fun fun fun!

Where did you buy it, I really want one?

D&L airgun, they sold out FAST, all gone in 1 day I believe!!!

It has a smooth barrel & ya, I'd love to have a GP25 or GP30. Where is the best place to pick up a Kobra sight?

Try East Wave, they also have several models of Eastern Bloc glasses:

You can also try Tantal as well:

Although no longer stock Kobras, Kalinka Optics got more models available in their inventory.

Crappy Chinese-made replica of Kobras are out there but I strongly recommended to get the real deal as you can as there were sayings that the Kobras has ceased production by Axion :( .

And if you don't mind "toys", it is possible to get a replica GP25/30 in the country, but I won't get to it any further as per the forum rules......

The thousand bux question is
how difficult is to make a 7.62x39 conversion kit for that airgun?

I knew this question would come up. And here is the honest answer, from what I can tell... The bolt carrier is different, there is no bolt, there is no "head" on the front of the bolt carrier piston, there is a different ejector rail, the front trunnion is shaped slightly different (right side), the trigger group is different, the barrel is different, the mag is different.

And, when I say different, I mean they have done "something" to make that part un-usable in a real AK74.

What does "appear" to be exactly the same is all the furniture, the rear trunnion, the trigger guard & spacer, the safety, the sights, the muzzle break, the pins, the left side mount for optics, the top cover, the top cover "release" button & recoil spring underneath.

Not sure if I've forgotten some items, this was just off the top of my head...

Cheers

If the ATF can turn an airsoft gun into a "machine gun" they can turn anything into a real firearm :D
