TCRC Precision Long Range .22LR Match (April 22, 2012)

That's good shooting. I've never had success with Scoremax, just shows how individual rifles differ in their favourite fodder.

Got my "new to me" Mark IIBV working with my Leapers 3-9x40 AO Friday afternoon. It worked pretty good, but I need more glass and thinner crosshairs.

Last group at 100 yards was 3 shots coming in at 5/8" with plain old Winchester Super Xs. I should shoot bigger groups but my wife who said she "wanted to come" was giving me the ole stinkeye.

What exactly is the TCRC, all I can find is Twin City Radio Controllers, can someone post a link to a club webpage or am I missing something?

Here are my 5th and 6th, 22 shot groups at 300 yards.
It was NOT a calm day and switches faster than trigger breaks with 2 to 8mph winds. Same day I did some 100 yard ammo tests.
Thanks again Gord for this wind info.
All I know is it was messed up. Wind flags going everywhere. lol

So the targets I got were too small, the 9 ring is off the paper about 3cm.
I think?? The ring sizes were off by just mm so close enough for practice.

1st group 15 shots on paper. For fun/score say I got the last 5 in the 9 ring for a
score of 193. 5X ?

2nd 20 shots on paper for fun/score. 196. 5X ?

Getting to 300 yards will require a canted base for most scopes. Rimfire Technologies (https://www.rimfiretechnologies.com) has MOA bases for most popular models, and I'm sure these will also work on other guns. I have been told that they do ship to Canada. But, you must create an account in order to see shipping options for outside of the US.

I tried to create and account there and since there was no other options for country other than "United States" I emailed them asking if they shipped to Canada. The good news is that they were quick to reply, the bad news is that they said that they do NOT ship internationally. :(

I'm looking into Evolution Gun Works right now but does anyone know of a Canadian supplier or maker of 20 or 25 MOA bases for the Savage Mark II?

EDIT > Evolution Gun Works ships internationally, I have my 20 MOA Base ordered! :)

They must have changed that recently. There are a number of people on here who have bought from them recently.

This Sunday, rain or shine. Targets might get a bit soggy, but we'll be shooting from a firing point that's covered on all sides. Guess those garage doors aren't such a bad thing afterall...

It was a good turnout given the weather forecast. Environment Canada got it wrong once again calling for thundershowers. We didn't see a drop. The wind was gusty, but still very manageable.

Scores and some images of the highest scoring targets can be found here:

Hey Kombayotch,

Thanks again for organizing and running on a great match at the Twin City Rifle Club. It was an new event for our area, challenging, yet fun for all who attended. I'm looking forward to the next match on Sept 5th. Hope to see more people next time, especially those semi-auto guys with their hot 10-22s!

Congratulations to the winners, Bryan K. and Sam R. and thanks to our Range Officer and photographer, Kevin L. and our own King of the 'Q, Joe K. for keeping us well fueled.

You have a PM.
Looks like some good shooting at your inaugural match. Congrats on the match and to the winners. Just wish I was closer. This has actually got me motivated to start something similar out here on Vanc. Island.

looks interesting
we only got 200 yards here in Montreal
will bring my 1 incher group rifle at 200 yards

Nice rig. Cant wait to see it shoot.

If anyone is interested. I will be out practicing on Sat Aug 28, 8am till 1pm.
If you would like to come as my guest, please send me a PM and I will
set it up. First time guests are free.

I will have my one 12 year old son with me, so bring your kids to try it out too.

I printed off a few hundred practice targets, so you can try them out. Kombayotch
made these gongs, 300y,200y and 100y.
