So I am fairly new to the discussion boards but grew up shooting for 35 odd years and really am interested in getting into some of the competitive target classes.
Lurking on the board has given me a chance to pick up info that I never dreamed of. Thanks to all that contribute in a positive way.
That being said I think I have finally decided on a brand to get me into the game. I have struggled narrowing it down from a remington 700 to a Tikka T3 and think I have finally settled on a Savage built gun chambered in 223.(Thanks Mystic)as a starting point.
I know this is not everyone's gun of choice but I think it is a great way to get going.
My question is this.
On Savages website they have a video of the accustock treatment they offer but none of the target style rifles come with this feature, why not. It is supposed to be better than glass bedding so why not have it available on target models, or is this something that you can order on any model.
I am looking at the Model 12 F/TR in 223 mostly because it seems to be the only model in the target class available in 223. The Benchrest model and F Class are chambered in 6.5x284 Norma, 308 Win. or 6 Norma Br..
The other model that I am considering is the 25 LV-T, not sure though if the model 12 F/TR will be a better choice. The idea of a single shot (12F/TR) is fine.
Any comments on the models above would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
