I was sure that I'd seen Grizz tracks but now I have the proof.

I've got photos of 2 or three other blacks and 3 or 4 different cougars all within 5km all this spring and summer. I've hunted there for years but only got into the game camera thing within the last year. WOW... has it ever opened my eyes as to whats out there in the bush with me

Two cats in one photo so that's two for sure and the one from last fall is an adult and has a black tip on it's tail where as the lead one in the double cat photos doesn't. The the two sets of a single cat coming and going might be the same cat but I think there are at least three cats in the area. I think there is a tom (the fall photo) and a female with at least one cub. Also another younger cat but this is all just guessing, I should also add that I've seen different sized cat tracks in the area. As for bears there are 2 grizz, 1 small black, 1 large black, 1 cinnamon black, and another possible medium black. In past years I've also seen wolf tacks but nothing in the last year.

great cougar shots.....

Yup, you really dont know whats in the bush with you.

Who was that working up on the nahatlatch?

Did you see the 2 cabins at about 14 KM that burnt up about 2 weeks ago? one of them was a friend home.... and my hunting lodge....

"The cabins" will be missed ;(

I seriously think I would change hunting locations. One bear, okay, I'd take the chance. 3? I'd go elsewhere if they are still hanging around come hunting season, even if one was a black bear. That second grizz looks a little bigger than I want to mess with.
Nice pics, BTW. Looking forward to more.

Really?
The area I hunt deer in around here, I'll see 5+ bears a day...just keep your wits about you and don't gut a deer alone..

Some awesome trail cam pics!! Great pics of the grizz and the cougar!!

Are you seeing any good moose out in the part of 406 you have them hung? I'll be out there chasing bulls this year with Dad...

You are one lucky SOB, so many cuddly critters to play with, I say you start giving them names, like Mittens, and Cuddles...
Any more pics?

Great photos – I definite need to get me a couple trail cams’ – you don’t realize half of what is wandering around out there.
I have hunted 406 in the Elbow Valley for several years. During that time, I had heard a couple of bears "woof'" at me but never saw them. It is a little spooky wandering around out there in the dark. When I did my gutting out there it was at light speed with one eye, and ear, always pealed for visitors – with the hair on my neck constantly standing up. (I have hunted alone for the last 10 years)

Those tracks are Fr&&king big (and yes they are “Grizzly”). But at least with Grizzlies if they are if anything, they are honest. They will let you know if they are pi**ed off.
Cats, well that’s a different story, I hate cats. They are just too d*m sneaky, any animal that will pounce down from trees to feed on you needs to be dispatched without hesitation.

I use to pack the 7mm in 406, but I think it’s time to switch to the .375 Ruger.

I was just out at the range today making sure the 338wm is all set to go. Got a nice 250gr load that is shooting under an inch, no 140gr 6.5x55 this year. However, I was looking at those Ruger Alaskan 375 rifles, very nice but I'd like one in 338wm. I'm temped to have the 338 cut down to 20" and have iron back up sights installed. It would be nice to take the scope off once I've got an animal down.

Wow those are some big animals! Let us know if you also find a sasquatch! hahaha

I would definitely be taking a big gun with me to check those cameras.
