how old is this ammo?

Hi, was given a box of Imperial saber tip 30-30 170 gr. Price sticker was $4.36, thanx.

I had some back in the mid 1980's when I had bought it. It was recently new at that time.

At $4.36 a box it may be in the mid or late 1970's. I recall the Sabretips were out when I started shooting with dad in 1974, and he was buying them from Elwood Epps for reloading.

If you check the flaps on the box, the small ones, there are date codes.
