Unless you were doing something you shouldn't be, tell him politely to mind his own business. I have had fudds tell me that shooting an ak-47 was illegal. (I was shooting a bone stock CZ 858....)
I hope you responded along the lines of "Well, it's a good thing that I'm not shooting an AK-47 then!"
I did in fact tell him what it was and the fact that it is non-restricted.... he failed to believe me... I kept shooting and he packed up his single shot 22's(yes, plural)..
I know that range and am a member there but usually shoot at PoCo. There are some very Fuddish types at Mission who seem to think that anything that isn't old, walnut and blued in 30-06 is somehow 'wrong' :-(
I have had a Fudd at Mission insist I shoot my Savage .22LR bolt gun single shot rather than use the 5 shot magazine as, apparently, they have a rule against loading more than one shot at a time. While he was correct in his interpretation of the rule ( though had discretion to make an exception which he did not exercise ), this particular Fudd's attitude was very, very poor to myself and, later, to some other folks so I wrote to the club exec about it - alas, I never did get a reply.
I'd have told him where he could stick that note pad. It is NONE of his business.
Maybe the old Fudd just wanted to make friends with you boys. Did he look anything like this?

"Cartridge restrictions per Federal regulations: .460 Weatherby, .50 BMG and .338 Lapua Mag. are PROHIBITED"
What range you go to Coldblood, that quote looks awfully familiar in a very exact kind of way![]()
From my range rules:
"Cartridge restrictions per Federal regulations: .460 Weatherby, .50 BMG and .338 Lapua Mag. are PROHIBITED"
Hey gunner's
Got a question for u guys. My cousin just bought a new rifle....It's a remington 700 chambered for the .338 lapua round.Yesterday He went to the range to try it out. The sound from the shot's were setting the car alarms off in the parking lot. after a few rounds an older man came up to us and started questioning us about the rifle, and were my cousin was able to obtain a military/police rifle. Also he took out a note pad and wanted our names. I found this very strange. Have any of u ran into this issue before. This rifle was purchased from a normal gun store
Guess that means you can have fun using .458 SOCOM![]()
He was clearly jealous of your cousins rifle and frustrated at the fact that his single shot .22s weren't satisfying his needs anymore.
