Tavor, not too happy with Canam

Everyone should have known how the import issues in Canada go. Anyone expecting their gun to arrive exactly on a set date is either mentally deficient or living in a dream world.

My sympathy goes to CanAm, I can only imagine all the whiners that must call them.

My sympathy goes to all dealers who obviously put up with a lot of s**t from Canadian shooters. The OP had a legitimate complaint but if you were to browse the dealer forums here on CGN you get a small taste of what they deal with daily.

Whenever I've dealt with CanAm I've asked for Paul, the man is very friendly and polite and has the patience of Job. He is the reason I will continue to shop with CanAm! Mike on the other hand...

I was not being difficult or demanding in the least, just asking for a ballpark on arrival time. That is it. Iwas not asking for a foot to the fire, do or die, carved in stone delivery date. I simply wanted to know if they had arrived in Canada, and if there were any issues with CBSA in releasing the shipment.

This was not an in depth call, I ordered and paid on line, no sales pitch needed. If the guy had said, Mr. >>>> they have just been relased, and we will begin shipping This Wednesday. While I have you on the phone, would you like to order any parts or accesories? Having just received a bonus from work, the answer would have been yes. I would have eagerly snapped up some extra mags and a shorter barrel.

I want to make a note that I wasn't singling out the OP. He had a legitimate complaint of rudeness. I can, however, see how a person answering the phones could become a bit short after dealing with the general BS that is the Canadian firearms owning public. That doesn't excuse the behavior, but I can say I probably would have been worse.

I guess that you have just gotten used to poor customer service. So much in fact that you defend it? WOW Any enterprise that has remained in operation is selling a product for a profit and this profit allows them to open thier doors the next day. No customers equall no sales equall no profit equall padlocks on the door.

There is never a good excuse for poor customer service, The OP was not looking for the moon just good customer service...

I guess it all depends on your perspective. To me, a "dream world" is one in which a vendor thinks it's in any way acceptable to take a man's money and then give him the gears when he makes a polite enquiry as to the status of the expected delivery date.

This is Tavor DeJaVu. Didnt you guys use the search function? I originally thought their behavior was odd at best when it took a FEW MONTHS for mine to show, but after reading the marstar thread on their Israeli made Bul Storm delivery time, I think its clearly a nightmare to import regulated guns from Israel into Canada and put an accurate timeline on the whole thing. Both importers are unable to give a remotely clear picture as to when things can be expected to clear the paperwork smorgasbord. Cut them some slack and wait, they will come, and when they do come, you will all be happy. Not sure about you Bayou guy... I think your in for an exceptionally long wait if your stateside; but that can be thanked on Hillarys husband not Canam or Israel.

I'm not defending poor customer service, I'm condemning whiners. I'm saying I can understand how someone working for CanAm can get frustrated and have a bad day.

We see multiple threads with guys #####ing and moaning that the Tavors aren't here. The arrival date is not something controlled by CanAm, they are at the mercy of a virtually criminal customs agency. I can only imagine all the calls they get from self-entitled idiots who think CanAm is purposely delaying their rifles. I too would probably get annoyed and tell them to call CBSA if they are so upset.

Consumers often become irate and angry when, more often then not, the problem is that they are complete idiots.

The OP made his points known & Can Am has responded.
