A Rifle that fits the bill

Hey guys, I'm looking at getting a new hunting rifle as mine doesn't fit me all that well. I find it too small and I have to scrunch down to fire it. Its not comfortable. Its a Browning A-Bolt Hunter in a 30.06, do you guys have any suggestions on a manufacturer who's stocks fit a taller/longer armed person. I tried a Sako today that almost fit, would need a longer recoil pad, but I'm not willing to spend another $1600 on just the rifle.

What MBP said. Most of the rifle manufacturers make stocks with approximately the same LOP. A custom stock might be a good idea. I have spliced in a 1.5" spacer to a couple of my shorter stocks to make them fit me better.

+2. Before spending anything on a new rifle (unless you just want a new rifle, which is perfectly reasonable :D), try adding a longer recoil pad and/or some spacers to get LOP closer to what you want. I am not tall at 5'-9", but I have long arms and almost everything I shoot is too short for me without adding to the LOP. It is simply part of making the rifle fit and work properly for you.

As an intermediate step before springing for a new rifle, consider buying a new stock such as a Boyd's Classic. They are not very expensive (~$100) and you can cut it to whatever length you like.

Sako has the longest LOP of any factory rifle, at 14". If its not long enough, you're definitely looking at a custom stock. McMillan will inlet for an A-bolt and you can pick what style, LOP, and colour you want.
 
have a look at Richard's Micro fit stocks.
They offer "[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]Longer Length of Pull -- LOP can be brought out to 14 3/4" without a recoil pad installed"

I have never dealt with them nor have any affiliation. They have interesting looking lamination colours and styles and offer the extra long LOP option.
