Next council meeting is Aug 17, and I expect it won't take thier staff by-law writer that long to come up with a bylaw to b voted upon!

Here is thier contact info if anyone wants to address a POLITE note to them indicating they will consider Whistler a anti hunting community not appreciative of your tourist dollars if they pass the by-law. Be polite and non threatening, please.

This is where the meeting agendas are posted

As I said, I won't be in town, so hopefully someone else will be at the meeting to represent hunters. DOn't knwo how esy they make it to address council, although there is always the public Q&A

Make a presentation to Council?

Delegations wishing to appear before Council must write to Mayor and Council requesting permission, and notify the corporate officer, in writing, with a detailed synopsis of the presentation and the name of the person giving the presentation, which Council meeting they wish to attend and any desired resolutions or activities. Each delegation is allotted five minutes to speak. Requests must be received by noon on the Wednesday prior to a meeting to be placed on the next agenda.

A public question and answer period opens every Council meeting, as well

After the debacle in BC, it would be good to hear how this one goes, it sounds like the firearms community, thanks to Gatehouse, has a chance to nip this one in the bud.

I'd love to see the Q&A period:

"What data do you have to support the ban on crossbows, or is this a random fear-mongering?"

"How many injuries occur in the area from skiers - are you planning on banning skiing in the region as well?"

etc, etc. What a gong show town council has opened.

Good luck and good fighting - I strongly believe the battle for gun rights will not be won merely in Ottawa, but must be fought on every battlefield it's threatened, which means all these town-level bylaws.
